PoliticsRe: Alleged Coup: No Court-martial For Soldiers In Democracy — Femi Falana by 4usng: 3:35pm On Feb 03
Ofunaofu:
“The soldiers cannot be court-martialed, they are not trying to remove a military dictator. It’s an attempt to remove an elected government, a constitutional government, to disrupt the constitutional arrangement,” he stated.

This is false.

Similar to the United States Unified Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), the Nigeria's Armed Forces Act (AFA) Cap A20 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, is the primary legislation that regulates discipline, defines offences, and provides the framework for courts-martial in the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Here are the key details regarding the Nigerian military justice system:

1. Governing Law: The Armed Forces Act (AFA) (formerly Decree 103 of 1993).

2. Court Structure: The AFA provides for the establishment of Courts-Martial to try service personnel.

Types of Courts-Martial:

General Court-Martial (GCM): Handles serious offenses and can impose severe punishment, including death.
Special Court-Martial (SCM): Handles less serious offenses, with limitations on sentencing power.

3. Ad Hoc Nature: Unlike the U.S. system which has standing courts, Nigerian courts-martial are ad hoc, meaning they are convened by a commanding officer when needed and dissolved after the trial.

4. Appellate Process: Appeals from courts-martial go to the Court of Appeal and, ultimately, the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Like the UCMJ, the AFA covers offenses such as insubordination, desertion, mutiny, and theft of arms.

SlavaUkraini:
Tinubu abandoned Ribadu that was the candidate of his Party and supported Jonathan instead...

How could he have survived the fact that he lied to INEC that he attended a primary school that was found out to be false...

Jagaban decided to play Ball and he was left off the hook...

And know that even if you are clean, a vindictive FG can use the EFCC to send you to jail if they see you as a threat...
Sorry but the dates don't add up.

The 2011 Presidential election involving Jonathan, Buhari, and Ribadu was held on April 16, 2011.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal's case involving Tinubu started in September 2011.

Blazetrailer:
According to WTO report in Oct 2024, Nigeria's trade surplus of $1.0bn was as a result of the 20% cumulative decrease in imports attributed to (1).Naira Depreciation, (2) Huge decline in non oil imports, and (3.) FX liquidity bottlenecks (Source: WTO African View report, Oct. 2024)
I downloaded the WTO Trade Review on Nigeria Oct 2024 but could not locate a reference in the report to back the exact claim above?

Yes, an executive governor crawling on his belly to a 3rd world country because he wants to beg a construction firm to sign a contract with him, is clearly a sign of a high IQ at work.

Oh gosh, I'm so sick and tired of living by the standards of these dimwits
Is Turkey (a NATO member, 18th-largest economy in the world and 8th-largest economy in Europe) a third world country?

PoliticsRe: Eko Rice: Largest Rice Mill In Nigeria Begins Bagging In Lagos by 4usng: 6:33pm On Dec 20, 2022
obyno82:
That is a lie, it is not the same cost. the unbagged rice will take up more space and there would be more cost. If you must know logistics cost in Nigeria is one of the highest in the world because of bad roads insecurity state taxation and settling of touts, security agencies via road blocks. It would have been more economically viable to site the plant close to the rice farms.
Wow! Unbagged rice will take up more space? Seriously?

I didn't know it was possible to have an IQ this low.
