…says Ex-Vice President is the ‘best option’ for Nigeria at a time as this

The 2019 Young Democratic Party (YDP) governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom state, Arc. (Otuekong) Nya-Etok, has today declared his support for Alh. Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP). He made this known on his daily radio program on PASSION 94.5 FM UYO – “NYA-ETOK 10 to 11”.
Arc. (Otuekong) Nya-Etok stated that “the country at this point has been divided and fragmented…never has there been this degree of religious and ethnic division”. It is important that we vote someone who has the capacity to run successful enterprises and who is tested and trusted in his area. Nigeria needs somebody who will ensure that there is no ethnic and religious coloration, Arc. Nya-Etok further said that “due to the peculiar situation we are in, we need a man who isn’t intimidated and can weather the storm”.
Arc. Nya-Etok categorically asserted that “after due consultation with his people, he as an individual is in full support of the PDP Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar”. He noted that his decision has nothing to do with his decision to contest the governorship seat of Akwa Ibom state.

Although the Young Democratic Party (YDP) is part of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) which has adopted Atiku Abubakar as the consensus Presidential Candidate for the 2019 elections, Arc. Nya-Etok emphasized that his decision was personal. This decision is in line with the words of President Muhammadu Buhari who said during campaign in Imo state, that “everyone should vote based on merit, not based on party affiliations”.

I've always admired Arc Nya-Etok's passion for Nigeria. I would have been surprised if he spoke otherwise! Every individual that loves Nigeria knows that Atiku is the better alternative for the country at a time like this.
