If the PDP like, they should burn the ballot papers.. Nothing like using of voters register alone. No card reader no election. We can't allow the massive rigging that took place in 2015 in both South South and South East again in 2019...No ghost voters.

Are you sure some people are not trying to make people from Anambra find it hard to vote?

They will have to reconfigure new card readers of over 4,000 before Saturday!
Don't worry, Incidence forms will be readily available where the card readers are not available or malfunctioning. Card readers are not backed by law anyways. INEC in Anambra state is fully prepared for the election.

@POLITICSNGR

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has reacted to a fire incident that engulfed two containers filled with INEC electoral materials in Anambra State earlier today.

In a statement signed on Tuesday evening, made available to PoliticsNGR, the commission revealed that 4695 card readers were destroyed in the fire. The Statement read;

"Further to our statement of Sunday 10th February 2019, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regrets to inform the public that there has been another lire incident, this time in its Anambra State office.

This is the third of such incidents in the last 12 days, following closely behind those of Isiala Ngwa and Qua'an Pan Local Government offices in Abia and Plateau States respectively.

While the Commission awaits the details of the latest incident, it notes with some relief that there was no fatality or injury reported. Initial assessment however confirms that a total of 4695 of the Smart Card Readers were destroyed in the inferno.

While this is, no doubt, a setback to our preparations for the smooth conduct of the elections in Anambra State, the Commission has taken immediate measures to ameliorate the situation, by mopping up some of the spare Card Readers from other States to deploy to Anambra State.

With the steps so far taken. the Commission remains confident that the election in the state will proceed as scheduled.
We have in the meantime reported the incident to the Police and the Fire Service and investigations into the cause have commenced.

We take this opportunity to commend the Fire Service for its response, which prevented the spread of the fire and averted more damage."

Inec wont use incidents forms,its strictly card readers so no inflation of votes in the east.

I think you have a point,pdp usually inflates votes in the east.strict use of card readers won't allow for that,it will expose the poor turnout in the east.perhaps pdp are trying to force inec to resort to the use of incident forms.

Then why are the card readers being destroyed.?
Since there is no incident form, the pdp would be foolish to tamper with the card readers.

Apc is trying to rig and you are accusing the pdp.

IPOB handwork

Weak!

Every reasonable person can see a pattern developing here! It's only one group of people, (desperadoes that will do anything to cling on to power) faced with daunting odds and a strong premonition of defeat, that would resort to these kind of wicked and desperate measures!

These are the scum that can burn a resident electoral commissioner and his family to cinders all in a bid to keep their secret from being exposed!

The people we are dealing with here represent the darkest and most evil part of the northern islamic hegemony that believes Nigeria belongs to them and who see the rest of Nigeria and Nigerians as their personal property!

This isn't Igbos modus-operandi! When IPOB want to make their feelings known on any particular issue, they either come out to demonstrate (for which they're still paying with their blood) or they use the social media to get their message across! You want to tell me they went up north and burnt the one in southern Kaduna as well?

I feel the pdp are forcing inec's hand.non use of card readers will favor pdp more since turnout is usually low down south and pdp thrives on inflation.

Really? If i may ask... Why would APC be setting fire on those materials? Why?
So PDP can't be behind it...
We keep lying to ourselves everyday in this country.
Or what about IPod... Can they be behind it?

This could easily be a gimmick to force a reversion to manual accreditation which would allow ballot stuffing or inflation of figures for the party whose stronghold the state is.
Re: INEC Reacts To Fire Incident In Anambra, Reveals Next Line Of Action by planet4: 3:12am On Feb 13, 2019
There was no sign of fire service or effort made to quench the fire , I passed there at night and it was still burning. Police officers were just there as if they needed to make sure that everything burn to ashes. Shameful politics, APC knows they will loose in the south east. They are planning to come with a frustrating card reader to deny people their right to vote.

No security again... election materials are heavily guided in the past what is going on with this people

INEC should ensure there is heavy security in centers with election materials

INEC should give us a free fair and credible election and do whatever is needed to achieve this.
