N411m Fraud: Another Ecobank Top Manager May Go To Jail!...How he fleeced unsuspecting customers

This is another defacing development for one of Nigeria’s financial houses, given the fact that in recent past, a handful of their top officers have been enmeshed in one court case or the other over allegations of fraud and sundry messy financial scandals and abuse of vested office in them.

Again, what could aptly be described as nemesis for an obstinate and mischievous person has just played out on a top manager at Ecobank plc, Ifeanyi Chukwu Azike, as a Lagos Federal High Court last week ordered his remand in prison for allegedly defrauding one of the bank’s customers to the tune of a whopping N411 million. Azike was reportedly arraigned before Justice Ayotunde Faji, by the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police on a three count-charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretence, false representation and fraud.
