This is a stupid report by the useless blog AutoTrash. This report is meant to discredit the effort of the Buhari administration in respect to rail transport modernisation.

The mode tried as much as possible to sound unbiased but we ain't fools, we know what's right. Buhari deserves all accolades for seeing through a 30yr project in just under 4yrs.

All other administrations earned more and still using paucity of funds as an excuse? Autojosh Abi wetin u call yourself, you guys are fools and stupud. With less Buhari made it happen.

By 10pm tomorrow, you and ipopigs will cry and keep crying till 2031.

In simple terms, PDP spent 16 years talking railway, signing MOU only.

But with just 4 years, President Buhari has built, laid tracks and have trains running. So out PDP now want to return and restart embezzling project funds. Never!!!

This autojosh wouldn't stop being economical with truth, even after several warnings.

Where is the part which states that Buhari was the only one to pay the counterpart funds to cofund with the Chinese investors? Whereas others including Jonathan left it alone for the Chinese investors. Jonathan thought he don see Chinese maga to fool and that was why the project was left stalling for years.

If only people knew what oil countries such as Angolans and Venezuela folks are passing through during this global crude oil price recess, they would thank God Buhari came in rather than Jonathan who looted us dry during oil boom when it was selling at $110 per barrel for five years unlike the paltry $50 it has been selling under APC. If the looting Jonathan couldn't save during the time of plenty and was already borrowing, how would he have carried on during this crude oil price recess?

Despite Buhari administration earning 60% less yet he's come up with plenty projects such as

Our railways at itakpewarri, Lagos-ibadan, Lagos-Abeokuta, kaduna-abuja etc,

The production of low cost fertilizers,

Zik maoseleum

Baro inland port,

Kaduna inland dry port,

Port Harcourt airline terminal,

Abuja airline terminal,

Rice mills,

Foreign reserve increase from $26b to $43b,

Construction of our express highways such as enuguonitsha, Lagos-ibadan etc.

Social policy schemes such as tradermoni, npower etc

Payment of all pensions of airline staffs that were forced to retire after the shambolic privatisation by Atiku. PDP didn't pay them in the last 16 years.

And most especially, stabilizing us through this recession which happened because jonathan failed to save despite earning 60% more than Buhari coupled with the fall in the price of crude oil from $110 per barrel in 5 years under Jonathan to a paltry $50 per barrel under Buhari administration yet Buhari was able to keep us afloat while having many projects to his name thereby surprising Ngozi Iweala and Charles Soludo who predicted recession because jonathan looted and failed to save during the time of plentiful.

Sai Baba. PDP, Neva again

Bros don't mislead people in the name of politics, I know you are intelligent but don't introduce politic to your intelligence......we all know this administration have nothing to offer us same with pdp but beyond these two party we still have better candidate....let look ahead and think about the future of this country.. thanks

Big lie modern railway for Nigeria was conceived prior to 1983 during Shari era.

You want evidence?

AutoJoshNIG:

Olusegun Obasanjo (1999-2007)

1. In 2006, President Olusegun Obasanjo conceived  a modern railway project for Nigeria. According to him, “no nation has achieved holistic development without a coherent, integrated, efficient and reliable transportation system”.

2. On October, 2006, Obasanjo inaugurated the project to revitalize Nigeria’s 3500km railway network. This railway project was dubbed the Lagos-Kano standard gauge modernization project.

3. The contract for the railway project was awarded to China Civil Engineering and Construction Co (CCECC), for $8.3bn. It was to be funded with a soft loan from China.

4. The construction of the Lagos-Kano standard gauge modernization is projected to last for 25 years.

5. Due to funding problems, the project was later redesigned to be executed in standalone segments.

6. The Abuja-Kaduna segment was designed to be the first segment of the 1,124km Lagos-Kano line. It was to be implemented as part of the standard gauge project.

7. Obasanjo added a new 100km line which would be built from Minna to Abuja, continuing for 205km beyond the capital to Kaduna. He also said phase II would see the reconstruction of the Port Harcourt-Jos route.

Musa Yar’adua (2003-2010)

8. In November 2007, the Yar’Adua administration stopped the railway project due to “paucity of fund”. According to the minister of transportation, Diezani Alison-Madueke, the project was “posing challenges to the current administration”. The intention to source funding from the country’s excess crude account had “constitutional limitations”, she said, and an anticipated $1.28bn loan from China “crashed for a number of reasons”.

9. To ensure that things are properly done, Yar’Adua invited the respected geographer and urban planning expert, Professor Akin Mabogunje, to a meeting to discuss how the entire rail system could be modernized.

10. In October 2009, The Yar’adua government signed the $875m Abuja-Kaduna rail construction contract. The project was designated as the Phase 1 (Segment 1) of the re-scoped railway modernization project. The railway line would cover the Abuja (Idu)-Kaduna axis in the new agreement with the Chinese company. The project was reviewed downward from the initial $8.3 billion signed by the President Olusegun Obasanjo administration.

11. In 2009, the abandoned 276 kilometers long Warri-Ajaokuta rail line project was resuscitated. The project was originally conceived in 1987 to carry steel products and raw materials from Delta Steel Company, Aladja, Warri  but was later abandoned after about 254 kilometers had been done due to funding constraints.

Goodluck Jonathan (May 2010 – May 2014)

12.  Shortly after winning the 2011 presidential election, President Goodluck Jonathan initiated the high-speed Lagos-Kano rail project.

13.  The Lagos-Kano rail project is the first phase of the  Lagos-Kano rail line  which will connect Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Warri, Bauchi, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. The project - which was designed to be executed in 6 phases - was projected to cost the country $13 billion, much of which will be financed with a loan from the Export Import Bank of China. The entire project was expected to last for about 25 years.

14. Between February and October 2010, a total of 25 new locomotives were purchased by the Federal Government from the General Electric Transportation South America and deployed to boost train services across the country’s railway routes.

15.  The Abuja-Kaduna segment is the first segment to be implemented as part of the Lagos-Kano standard gauge project under the first standard gauge railway modernisation projects (SGRMP) in Nigeria.

16. August 28, 2012,  the Jonathan-led government signed a Memorandum of Understanding  for the construction of the of $ 1.5billion Lagos – Ibadan rail project with CCECC Nigeria Limited. The Lagos-Ibadan line project is a double track railway line modernisation project. The standard gauge line is to          run between Lagos, Ibadan, Ilorin, Minna, Kano and also there would be a phase that will take off from Minna to Abuja.

17. The Lagos-Ibadan Line is the Segment Two of the standard-gauge line that will connect Lagos and Kano.

18. In 2012,  work on the  Warri-Itakpe-Ajaokuta rail line  commenced. When completed,  it would enable train move from Warri  through Itakpe, Ajaokuta, Agbor, Warri and Ore with six stations in between.

19. June 2014, President Goodluck Jonathan, commissioned two sets of Diesel Multiple Units, DMUs, and 68-seater air-conditioned passenger coaches acquired by the Nigeria Railway Corporation to boost its passenger traffic.

20. According to Railway Technology, the construction of the Abuja-Kaduna rail line which started in February 2011 was completed in December 2014.

21. In 2014, the  Abuja-Kaduna rail line project was rated by KPMG, one of the leading consulting firms in the world, to be among the global top 100 world-class infrastructure projects.

22. In October 2014, the federal executive council (FEC) approved $6.6 million for the procurement of two locomotives for the Abuja- Kaduna rail.

Mohammadu Buhari (2015 -Date)

23. . On July 26, 2016, President Mohammadu Buhari commissioned the 187 km standard gauge line between Kaduna and Abuja . The Kaduna-Abuja standard gauge railway tracks runs from Idu, near Abuja, to Kaduna in the north-western region of Nigeria.

24. The Abuja-Kaduna standard guage line has 10 stations and features both passenger and cargo trains.

25. The trains run at a maximum speed of 100 km/h. At its southern end, the line terminates at Idu, about 20km from central Abuja, where there will be an interchange with the Abuja light rail ( a 78km intra-city rail line).

26. The Abuja light rail is a different project from the Abuja-Kaduna rail line, but still part of the grand plan birthed by the Obasanjo-led administration.

27. In April 2017, the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) announced it had begun the construction of the 36-kilometer Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge railway line.

28. The project which was earlier contracted for nearly $1.5 billion, was rewritten and renegotiated by the Buhari-led government and the Chinese construction firm handling the project, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).

29.The project is jointly funded by the Nigerian and Chinese governments will gulp about $1.5bn (N458bn).

30. The 160km Lagos-Ibadan Line will run from Iddo in Lagos to Ibadan in Oyo State, passing through Abeokuta in Ogun State. It will also have an extension to the Apapa Ports Complex.

There is one thing I learnt from this trashy post: PDP administrations were good in proposals but corruption, diversion of funds, mismanagement and looting wouldn't let them achieve anything. It takes integrity and courage of PMB to deliver

NIGERIAN let's ponder on this.

This might help us in making good choices for those that can take their time to read this:

HOW ATIKU MADE NIGERIANS JOBLESS

A. NigerDock is the largest ship fabrication yard in West Africa sub region. When it was sold, its Ex-MD Engr. Nkpubre Okon, openly stated how "Mr Job Creator" ignored the Transport Ministry then to Open bid for NigerDock.

Atiku's preferred bidder, 'Global Energy' that agreed to increase NigerDock's workforce from 4,800 to 6,000 as part of privatization agreement dismissed 2,200 immediately it took ownership. Jagal Group that took over after Global Energy lost out on power play also sacked 1,400.

B. Nigeria Port Authority reform was purely contrived to grab landed properties. 10,000 workers were sacked & 133 bids opened for NPA properties consisting of 68 properties in Apapa, 28 houses in Ikoyi. The highest reserves bid was for a property in Ikoyi fixed at N390.4 Million.

C. NIGERIA RAILWAY
Did Atiku forget how 7000 railway workers were sacked in 2005 without compensation to reduce its workforce to 6,300? Another 1,260 were fired in 2006. When ATIKU and his Headmaster were leaving in 2007, they left ~N5 Billion in unpaid Railway pension arrears.

D. FEDERAL SECRETARIAT IKOYI
In 2006, Babalakin's Resort Ltd acquired this 15 storeys prime asset overgrown with weeds from atiku and OBJ through a Development Lease Agreement (DLA) for N7.2Billion. A Court has asked Buhari to pay N54 Billion to Babalakin for that blunder.

The DLA, dated October 10, 2006, granted Babalakin Resort Ltd a 99-years lease to redevelop the Federal Secretariat complex, that OBJ & ATIKU had abandoned for 7 years into 480 luxury apartments. This was at the eve of their departure from government. The transaction was one for the road.

The DLA hit the rocks when Lagos State Govt in the interest of the public indicated willingness in acquiring the Federal Secretariat complex. LASG insisted it should be accorded right of first refusal since LASG is the Issuing Authority of the C of O, coupled with other reasons.

Finally, lets compare OBJ & Atiku's first 3yrs in power to the first 3yrs of PMB that hasn't retrenched one civil servant, but has bailed out states on salaries. Lets not forget Atiku was in charge of the economy and OBJ gave him free hand until Galaxy Backbone scandal happened.

In 2002, first 3yrs of the Obasanjo/Atiku, manufacturing accounts for 6% of GDP. Nigeria's GDP fell by half for d first time in 20yrs. This was d year all textile factories in Nigeria closed down and unemployment was 28% within d formal sector alone; I repeat, alone!!

In 2002, UN estimated that 70% of Nigerians live below poverty line compared to 48.5% in 1998 under a military rule. Life expectancy fell from 54yrs to 51yrs. Two-fifth of every child below age 5 were malnourished and only 50% of the 128Million Nigerians have access to clean water.

“As Head of National Council on Privatization (NCP), from 1999, atiku dug Nigeria's economic grave for today's extreme poverty and unemployment.

There were over 600 federal assets when Atiku's NCP started selling.

Atiku should tell us who bought what and what was left for the country when he left power.
To who did Atiku sell the following companies:

Nafcon
Eleme Petrochemical
Daily Times
Ughelli Power
Egbin Power
NICON Insurance
ALSCON
Transcorp Hilton Hotel
NICON Luxury Hotel
Sunti Sugar Ltd
NetCom House
Bacita Sugar Ltd
MM2

In 2007, Onigbolo Cement operating at 500,000 tonnes per annum was sold to Dangote at N1.7Bn

To those selling Atiku, let me remind you of Senate public hearing of August, 2011 which succinctly captures how Atiku through retinue of cohorts, fronts, shell companies, ring fenced over 70% of FG's assets through a brazen daylight robbery privatization that he supervised.

This is nothing sensational. Its real life facts and all the Senators are alive today.

The 2011 privatization Senate committee was made up of Senator Ahmed Lawan – Chairman, Senators Babafemi Ojudu, Philip Aduda, Mohammed Ndume, Ifeanyi Okowa, Hope Uzodinma and Mohammadu Magoro.

Lets look at Aluminium Smelting Company, ALSCON, that Atiku privatized.

ALSCON which Nigeria built with $3.2 billion, was sold to a Russian firm, Russal, for $130million. As of the time of sale, ALSCON had received $120million for the dredging of Imo River, but was never done.

When the Senate Seating of August, 2011 asked the Russian company the whereabouts of the $120million dredging money, the company's Deputy Managing Director, Vitaly Kuzrestov, said that the money has been used for Environment Impact Assessment."

FG's Five percent share in Eleme Petrochemical worth USD27 million was never presented at the National Council on Privatization before it was sold to Indorama.

Indorama recovered this amount selling Polyethylene and Urea to the entire west Africa sub-region in just 14 months.

The Atikulate Business Theory: Sell to yourself Government assets that leaves millions in penury, to set up personal businesses that provides for a few. Atiku didn't employ the few hundreds he employed because he likes them, he needs them to work to preserve what he took from Government

A man who supervised sales of over 145 federal investments as a vice president, without a thought for today wants to be president.

He didnt revitalize them.

He didnt resuscitate them.

He sold them to whomever agrees to his personal terms

..... *From my friend Michael Ogueke*

THOSE WHO STOLE YOUR 2015--2030 IN 1999--2014 ARE THE SAME THIEVES YOU ARE NOW ROMANCING TO COME BACK!!!

For how long will you allow a few to steal your future and your children's future and be giving you crumbs. Look at 1999--2015 everything we grew up to know were sold to themselves or the scrap sold for cash.

Nigeria Airways and their houses in GRA Ikeja, what happened to them? When we were growing up most of the houses in GRA Ikeja were owned by the Nigeria Airways and all now sold to whom?
Nigeria RE. The biggest re insurance company in Africa who bought it?
NICON Insurance who bought it ?
NITEL was sold for peanuts and killed by them so that their investment in AiRTEL, MTN,GLO etc will yield dividends
NITEL House one of the tallest in Marina was sold cheap to former Speaker Bankole.
What is the Status of National Stadium Surulere? Millions was budgeted for refurbishment by the sports ministry and nothing to show. Compare that stadium to Lagos State owned Thunder Balogun stadium and the difference is clear .
Nigerian National Shipping line? Where are the ships? They disappeared between 1999-2015
NEPA after Obasanjo spent $16 billion, they broke down NEPA to several units and sold it to themselves and NEPA is still not efficient while Atiku's Mikano Generators is powering Nigeria & her businesses!
Obasanjo/Atiku sold Port Harcourt Refinery to their cronies in 2007 and thank God, President Yar’ Adua reversed it .

All of these happened in the 16 disastrous locust years of the PDP! Recession didn't just happen! They looted us into recession! I cannot stand and watch those who plundered the nation come back in 2019. I will choose an imperfect Buhari a hundred times over them because he is not a thief. Stop praising and voting for individuals who took your future away and stop them from coming back to steal your generation away . It is better you go though pain today so that your kids will enjoy a better Nigeria .

Nigeria has a population of 200million people we are told.

Our 2018 budget is 9 trillion Naira.

The Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria AMCON, the company that was set up to help the rich buy their debts, told us last month that, 350 Nigerians {out of 200million citizens} are responsible for 80% of AMCON's N5.4 trillion debt portfolio.
May be you did not hear that well!
AMCON said only 350 Nigerians borrowed N5.4trillion from banks, which they could not pay and AMCON came in to buy up those debts in other to save the commercial banks from collapsing.
To put that in perspective;
2018 Capital Budget is N2.4 trillion

2018 Recurrent Budget is N3.4 trillion

Add both capital and recurrent votes and you will get N5.8 trillion.

But 350 Nigerians, out of 200 million of us borrowed that same amount, they refused to pay and government came round to buy the debts over through AMCON.

The corporation also pointed out that, out of the millions of BVN numbers with the banks, only 100 BVNs collect 60% of bank lendings.

And this has left the banks with 13,000 bad loans worth 5.6trillion borrowed by "big men" who are now fighting to remove this administration so that they wont ever pay their debts!
Now, when they go to recover from defaulters like they did with Silverbird for example, the same cheated ignorant commoners are the first to cry fowl.
Some of the companies owing include:
Seaworlf Nig Ltd - 160billion
Arik Air - 300billion
Tanzila Petroleum Ltd 49.2billion
Resort Int'l Ltd - 36.3billion
Home Trust Savings - 25.75billion
Suru worldwide ventures - 24.4billion
Roygate properties- 23.26 billion
Ziglagsis network Ltd - 20.33 billion
Lexcap partners - 18billion
Anyiam Osigwe Ltd - 17.25billion
Silverbird - 11 billion
Wokson International - 5 billion

From the figures above:
Arik alone is owing more than the 2018 Ministry of Transportation budget which is N263 billion.
Seaworlf Nig Ltd, is also owing more than the 2018 Ministry of Defence budget which is N145 billion.
It's not rocket science to know why they want PMB out but our ignorant gullibility which is a product of our contrived emotions not our lack of education is exonerating, encouraging and emboldening them to make desperate attempts to come back to power! Enough of this madness brethren and sisthren!
May Nigeria Succeed!!!If you like call me MUMU but I must post this... If you like read and share if you no like keep or delete but I don try my own..... Orun ma wo kin se Orun enikan.. If 9ja fail na u and I go suffer ram...

Oga, Buhari did not pay a dime on railway and airport terminals projects.
GEJ paid fully Nigeria's counterparts fund long before handover. Note that Abuja - Kaduna,
Abuja MetroLine and Ajaokuta - Itakpe -Warri were about 98% completed when GEJ handed over.

Buhari only inherited ongoing projects being executed by CCECC from GEJ but did not make any
financial commitment

I challenge you to show me Buhari's budgets to NASS that ever included
railways or airport terminals

Truth be told the successive govt had been irresponsible.. Thank God for the determination of the PMB administration to make things work.. He didn't come and close his eyes against the laudable project..

Liar. I challenged you to show me news media reporting on Jonathan releasing fund for the railway project like we have for Buhari below.

Misleading Kwa? I'm not. All projects I stated up there are facts. I have some problem with Buhari as regarding the issue of insecurity but I'm not going to throw away the baby with the bathwater especially when I realise the good things he has done despite earning 60% less than Jonathan who did nothing but looted us dry.

I dont know why you knowingly left out these glaring PMB achievements and yet blame someone for being economical with the truth....

- That Nigeria became the poverty headquarter of the world during PMB Administration
- Unemployment figure stands at a whooping 23% during PMB Administration
- And over 20.9 million Nigerians lost their jobs during PMB Administration
- Youth Unemployment rate is over 35%
