Here we go again, religious male chauvinists trying to control women.

How about open an article about 'Men and how they should dress and comport themselves '?

Hypocrites !!

Women and others, don't waste your time reading/buying this 'jargon' of a book. The charlatan is desperately in need of money.

No you are wrong. It's an eye opening book that should end the controversies on the subject. So many are confused today and they don't even know what to believe. The points contained in this book are substantiated by over 300 scriptural references. It is a well researched work. It is worth reading.

CHAPTER 1
Introduction

The Woman Question is perhaps the most controversial issue in the body of Christ today and it has hitherto hindered the unity of the church which is one of God's ultimate goals.
“That they all (the church) may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me” (John 17:21).
Is it an abomination for Christian Women to wear trousers even to church? Can we have a scriptural answer to this question? Just like a motor mechanic can't know more than the manufacturer of the car, we can't also know more than God who made us. “…..let God be true but every man a liar…..”(Rom. 3:4). So, any doctrine that's not consistent with the written Word of God must be regarded as untrue. John 17:17 says “….thy Word is truth”
The Word of God is powerful and informative enough to answer every question of life. “Knowing this first that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation, for the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (2 Pet. 1:20-21) In addition, 2 Tim. 3:16 declares,
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
Holy men of God didn't write their private opinion in the Bible. If they did, the Bible would have been the most confusing book on earth today. The Bible contains 66 books written by about 37 different writers that lived hundreds of years apart and in different parts of the world. It's very rare for the opinion of 2 or 3 persons to agree on controversial issues, talk more of the writings of 37 persons who may never have had the opportunity to consult with the writings of one another. So the harmony of the scripture points to one author - the Holy Spirit, though many writers.
Why then do we have different interpretations on this subject as well as other issues that have generated controversies? Is God the author of confusion? Certainly not. What then is the yardstick to judge who is interpreting the scripture correctly? To be continued.

First - You Must Be Born AgainIf the Bible was Spirit inspired, it then means that it can only be better understood by Spirit filled men. Trying to understand the scripture by logical reasoning (sense knowledge) only leads to deeper frustration. It's only with your spirit (heart) that you can understand the Word of God. Your soul can only acquire knowledge (accumulation of facts) through your mind based on the insight (understanding) that has come to your spirit. “…knowledge is easy to him that understandeth” (Prov. 14:6). It's imperative at this stage to know that man is a spirit, has a soul and lives in a body (1 Thess. 5:24). The spirit of man died when Adam sinned against God and that nature is what we were all born with. The spirit of man is re-born when he acknowledges and confesses that Jesus has been raised up from dead for him (Rom. 10:9-10). Anyone that's not born again can't have an in-depth knowledge of God's Word. “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned” (1Cor. 2:14).

Second - You Must Study the Bible YourselfAs a child of God, you have a personal responsibility to study the Word of God for yourself (2 Tim. 2:15) so you'll not be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine (Eph. 4:14). In the days of the early church, some of the Christian communities took time to examine the teachings of the Apostles through personal study. “These (the Berea Christian community) were more noble than those in Thessalonica in that they received the Word with readiness of mind and searched the scripture daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:11).Concerning the issue in discussion, how many of us have sincerely searched the scripture to find out if what we have believed hitherto is true. God has set up ministers to teach us God's Word but the greatest Teacher is the Holy Spirit. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things…” (John 14:26). 1 John 1:27 added, “But the anointing (Holy Spirit) which you have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you, but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things and is truth and is no lie even as it (He) hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.”Ministers of God do make errors but the Holy Spirit doesn't. You must judge whatever you're taught by the Word of God. One great challenge we have in this part of the world is slothfulness in studying. This is the reason some people hire others to write exams for them. It's a wrong spirit that must be dealt with in the house of God. So many professing Christians don't study the Bible but just accept whatever any preacher tells them. I recommend you pray for spiritual understanding in the same way Apostle Paul prayed for the church at Ephesus in Eph. 1:17-19. Then after a while your eyes will be opened to see things you never saw before as you study. You can't honestly agree or disagree with a matter until you have examined all the scriptures related to that issue in question.Your beliefs must be Word based. For effective study, you should employ the use of a study Bible and a good concordance.

Third - Do Not Analyze Scripture with ReasoningScriptural interpretation is not based on reasoning (logic). Some things may sound unreasonable but yet very scriptural. For instance, it's unreasonable to imagine that God would destroy all who rejects the gospel finally in the lake of fire, but it is scriptural (Rev. 20:10-15). Can you reason out how Mary could conceive without knowing a man? What about Jesus walking on water? The law of floatation was superseded by a higher law. So, make up your mind to accept God's Word with your spirit even if your mind cannot grasp it. “The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord…”(Prov. 20:27). In addition, Rom. 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Your senses must be trained to accept God's word.

Fourth - Scriptures Must Be Interpreted In Harmony With Other Scriptures. It'll be wrong to lift a scripture out of context and make it say what you want it to say without consulting other references on the same subject. For instance, the scripture “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also” (James 2:26), has been interpreted by some religious sects that grace alone is not enough to save us. They insist that work is also necessary if we want to get saved. But if we read the whole scripture in context, James is not talking about salvation here but on demonstrating our love to the needy and on backing up our faith with corresponding action to receive a miracle from God. If we consult with other passages on salvation, we are consistently informed that salvation is by grace through faith and not of works lest any man should boast. Eph. 2:8-10, Titus 3:5, Rom. 3:24 & Rom. 3:28 just to mention a few. So, you see how a scripture can be lifted out of context and consequently misinterpreted.

Fifth It Must Agree With The New Testament
Revelation.

The Old Testament Saints had a very limited revelation of God and His ways because of their darkened hearts. For instance, Job said “…the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21). This implies that both good and evil comes from God. A closer examination of this statement reveals it's incorrectness in the light of the New Testament revelation. John 10:10 says that the thief (devil) is the one responsible for stealing, killing and destruction. Every good and every perfect gift is from above (God), James remarks in James 1:17.God is even credited with the statement, “…I kill and make alive…” in Deut. 32:39. God communicated with the Old Testament Saints at the level they could understand. A simple illustration is in the study of chemistry. At the lower class, we were told that an atom is the smallest indivisible unit of an element. But as we progressed further, additional information revealed that there're smaller units in an atom. Jesus told His disciples that he had so many things to tell them but he wouldn't' do that now. Why? They were men of the senses. He left that to the Holy Spirit to do after spirit man should have been re-created. Some of us are holding on to some Old Testament teachings after we have been given additional information in the New Testament. So, you must update and upgrade your knowledge of God. The Old Testament is a type and shadow of the New (Heb. 10:1). You cannot fully describe an object by looking at the shadow. Moreover, you do not have any business to focus on the shadow when you can make contact with the real object. We should anchor our doctrines on the teachings of Jesus, His Apostles and Prophets. Apostle Paul proclaimed a curse on anyone who teaches any other gospel different from what he preached or taught. “But though we or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed” (Gal. 1:cool.

Sixth - You Must Put Away Preconceived Opinion.Don't search for scriptures to support your preconceived opinion and ignoring other scriptures that obviously contradicts it. We live by the Word of God (Matt. 4:4) and not by personal opinion. Concerning the Woman Question, I recommend you put away your personal opinion and find out what the Word says about it.

Seventh - Do Not Exalt the Authority of Any Study Guide above the Bible.

The Word of God is our final authority in all life related issues. In the same way, it's not what your local assembly teaches or believes that counts, but what the Bible says. The Bible says that, God has exalted His Word and His Name above all things including teaching aids.

Eight - You Must Put Away Pride

You must put away pride if you want to unlearn what you have previously been taught. “Pride goeth before destruction….” (Pro. 16:18). “….receive with meekness the engrafted Word which is able to save your soul” (James 1:21). Nobody can know more than Mr. Pride. Mr. Pride prefers to hold on to his beliefs in spite of evidences against them. The Bible further says that “….God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble” (James 4:6, 1 Pet. 5:5).

Ninth - Don't Put Your Tradition above the Word of God

Another enemy to spiritual progress is tradition. This is the way we have always done it and nothing can change it. Longevity does not mean legality. It takes men of courage to break traditions. Our Lord Jesus also had similar challenges with the religious rulers of his days, who preferred to exalt their tradition above the Word of God. They pretended to be adherents of the laws of Moses which they never kept. “….ye make the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition” (Matt. 15:6).A lot of Christian Women have subjected themselves to their church traditional dress code which often portrays a poor self image of what a child of God should look like.

Tenth - Every Biblical Doctrine must have at least two or three references.

For anything to be a doctrine, it must have at least two or three witnesses. “For in the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word shall be established” (Matt. 18:16). We will now begin to examine the Woman Question on trouser wearing in the light of the New Testament teachings with most of the references taken from Paul’s epistles.
