NIGERIA AND ITS POLITICS OF CRIMINAL GANGS
Dr. Ozodi Thomas Osuji

Perhaps, there are Nigerians that are decent human beings who given the opportunity would do the right thing. By the right thing one means engaging in prosocial behaviors, doing what serves the general public’s interests and not just one’s self-centered interests.
What one sees are Nigerians who seem born without the capacity for behaving in social interested manner; they seem the ultimate of self-centered behaving people. Just about every individual Nigerian asks: what is good for him and perhaps his immediate family but not what he calculates to be good for his nation?
The idea of nation-state is not real for Nigerians; they may call themselves Nigerians but behave not in Nigeria serving manner but in self-serving manner.

Since Nigeria obtained its independence from Britain in 1960, Nigerian politics can be easily defined. It is the politics of criminal gangs.
It goes like this: what seem powerful people constitute politicians; they have followers around them. Like Inner city street gangs in the USA, these politician criminal gangs claim certain parts of the country as the territories that they control and kill others who intrude into their areas.
Like criminals everywhere, Nigerian criminal politicians are sociopaths and psychopaths. Their goal is not to do something good for society but to take something from society. They have their eyes set on the national treasury.

Today, Nigeria derives most of its revenue from oil from the Niger Delta of Nigeria. The criminal gangs organize into groups and have their followers vote them into political office and proceed to steal the revenue from the national treasure.
The goal for seeking political office is to steal. If you believed that Nigerian politicians compete for political offices to go do something for the people you are uninformed.

A typical Nigerian politician has not taken courses on the political economy and cannot sit with you and discuss the merits and lack of them of the various political ideologies, such as mercantilism, capitalism, communism, socialism, conservatism, liberalism, fascism, corporatism, mixed economy, state capitalism (as in China). He does not know any of these and if you ask him to tell you what they mean he is at a loss. If he is at a loss over how the polity should be organized what exactly is he in politics to accomplish?
The Nigerian political criminal is in politics to steal money and have money to chop, period. If you believe that he has any other goals actuating his political behavior you are misguided.
Nigerian political leaders have no interest in the people; they do not care for the people; they have no love for the people.
They are like their ancestors who roamed around the African landscape and captured their people and sold them to whoever wanted to buy them: to Romans, Arabs and Europeans.

In fact, if today those foreigners still want to buy Nigerians, Nigerian political criminal gangs would gladly go capture and sell their people to them.
If you removed international laws made by the white man prohibiting slavery Nigerian political criminals would resume selling their people for money. There is no love for the people in Nigerian politicians’ minds.
Most Nigerian politicians have antisocial personality disorders. The antisocial personality disordered person looks at the world from what is in it for him. He does not care for social service. He does not have compassion for the people; he has no feelings of empathy for the people. He wants to take from the people and if he can steal it he would do so. He does not feel guilt or remorse from taking what belongs to other people.

Please perform this simple experiment. When you are in a meeting with Nigerians, leave a $`100 dollar bill on the table and pretend that you do not know about it; the chances are that the first Nigerian that enters that room, believing that he is unobserved, would take that money and not ask who it belongs to. This is the behavior of antisocial persons.

Prosocial persons would ask who the money belongs to and if the owner is not found put it to public good but not take it.
The Nigerian politician is a thief; he is a thug, literally, not figuratively.
These thuggish politicians literally recruit gang members to break the arms and legs, and, if necessary, kill members of other political criminal gangs.
The political criminal gang (political party) that manages to rig itself to political power (they always rig the election; they even rig the census and the consequence is that no one knows what the actual census of Nigeria is) will then proceed to use the law enforcement apparatus of the country to intimidate the rest of the people to obeying them.

FEAR RULES THE LIVES OF NIGERIANS

The typical Nigerian is ruled by fear. Point a gun at him and he panics and pees in his pants. He will do whatever you ask him to do if he believes that you would kill him if he does not.
Not many Nigerians have reached the developmental stage where principles are more important than staying alive. The typical Nigerian has no principle, no ideology that he places above his puny existence, so threaten him and he does as you ask him to do.
The thugs who rule Nigeria are terrorists with only self-serving ideology; they simply kill some Nigerians and strike fear into the minds of remaining Nigerians; the people are intimidated and do what they are asked to do by the terrorists pretending to rule them.

CONTEMPT FOR NIGERIANS

If you realize that Nigerians are cowards who want to live at all costs but are not willing to fight for their liberty you may be tempted to see them as mere animals and disregard them.
When one became aware of the role of fear in Nigerians lives one developed disinterest in them; if all of them were put in a house and gas is poured on them and the house is burned down one asked: what difference does it make? They are cowards merely trying to survive until nature and its diseases destroy them so their death makes no difference to one.

It is easy to develop contempt for Nigerians; this is because human beings are motivated to respect fearless and courageous people and have contempt for cowards who do what other people ask them to do just so they stay alive.
Nigerians are noise making cowards; they talk politics but are intimidated by the thugs that rule them.
See, instead of staying and fighting for liberty and justice in their country, as courageous young men do, young Nigerians are currently trying to sneak into Europe and North America to go enjoy what other people fought for.
And when they get there, as cowards and thieves, they would steal from the people instead of working pro-socially to increase the nations’ wealth.

European nationalists are working to keep Nigerians out of their countries. Who wants cowards and thieves to come multiply in their countries? Keep the cowards and thieves out is now the political refrain in Europe and North America.
What we have in Nigeria is the politics of pimps and whores. The politicians are pimps and the people are whores; the politicians use the people to make money, as pimps use whores to make money; this is because the whores are fearful people that the pimps intimidated to obeying them, obeying them to the extent of selling their bodies for the welfare of the pimps.

THERE IS NO USE BEING INTERESTED IN NIGERIAN POLITICS

Given the Nigerian criminal political culture why should one waste ones time talking about Nigerian politics; why bother with which political criminal gangs masquerading as political parties wins this week’s election in Nigeria?
These criminal gangs are merely struggling to have control of the national treasury and proceed to loot it. Therefore, there is no use in bothering with which of the criminal gangs win; none of them has agenda to modernize Nigeria; they are there to steal.

THE ALTERNATIVE IS BENEVOLENT DICTATORSHIP

What Nigeria needs is a benevolent dictator who has the interest of the people in mind; such a person would come in and gather the current political class in Nigeria and shoot all of them to death (it does not matter if several millions of these criminals are shot to death; what are they living for; living to steal is not good enough reason to stay alive). The dictator would thereafter establish a new political order in Nigeria.
Nigeria needs men like Joseph Stalin and Mao Tso Tung, men with total dedication to an idea of how society ought to be organized and implement it with total devotion; men who kill millions if those stand on their way.
Competing to win elections to become part of the criminal gangs that currently rule Nigeria is a waste of time.
One could care less who wins this week’s election in Nigeria; the election is going to be rigged, anyway. The better riggers will occupy political offices and loot the treasury.

They would do nothing about industrializing and modernizing the country or stopping the Fulani herdsmen running rampant killing Nigerians, or do anything to stop kidnappers who take people hostage until monetary ransom is paid to them or they killed their captives; they will not do much to defeat Boko Haram (the higher ups in the Nigerian army probably redirect the money meant for buying weapons to fighting the terrorist group to their pockets hence sacrificing the young soldiers sent to fight them).
Listen, no one cares to do the right thing in the bedlam called Nigeria; therefore one is not interested in which political criminal gang is supposedly elected to office to rule the thief-land called Nigeria.

Nigeria needs iron fisted, draconian hands, such as those of Otto Von Bismarck, to get the people to fall in line and start doing the right thing; until then it is a waste of time writing about Nigerian politics; one is not motivated to write about the activities of the political criminals that rule Nigeria. They are useless, destroy them.
