The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) says President Muhammadu Buhari’s comment on dealing summarily with ballot snatchers or arsonists in upcoming elections is not a license to kill.

President of the Congress, Mr Ayuba Wabba, stated this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

According to Wabba, the president’s comment to deal summarily with ballot snatchers or arsonists is not a license to kill. It is intended to deter trouble makers.

Sir, you mean the party which 'won' the Ekiti and Osun governorship elections through vote buying, rigging and ballot snatching? You think having succeeded at the state levels with security cover and without consequences, they would not repeat such at the presidential level, more so that the stake is higher this time? At the same time, they want to deter and intimidate their main opponents with 'do same and die'? Which party am I referring to?

No, the party of those who have been winning by hook and by crook, who currently control the police, Army, DSS and other Security apparatuses which they have turned into branches of their party. The party that doesn't obey court orders except when it suits them. The party of the political leader famously or notoriously quoted for declaring shoot at sight on suspected ballot snatchers, turning the Security personnels into both the accusers, the jury, the judges as well as prompt summary executioners! Only in Nigeria. Where else?
