8gb ram for a core i3 system is a dangerous issue. A core i3 system could be 32bit or 64bit system. 32bit Corei3 system only supports 4gb ram at maximum while 64 bit core i3 system may support up to 16gb(latest generation 8 or 9th generation) ram depending on the generation of the of the core i3 but older generation would only support 6gb ram because of the type of ram(ddr3) and the physical cores of the processor. in a nut shell 8gb ram for core i3(older generations) is dangerous as the system risks overheating and eventual death of the motherboard except you get a newer generation of core i3 system (very expensive) which supports ddr4 or ddr5 ram or better still get a core i5
