A staunch PDP Member has been arrested and brutalized my soldiers for just being a PDP member in Abua / Odua Local Government Of Rivers State.

Mr. ARIYE who was arrested by soldiers beaten, injured, his phone taken away and was ordered to run into the bush, was released last night.

According to Eric who shared the news on social media and he wrote:

Progress report as at this morning on the military arrest of PDP Faithfuls in Abua Odual LGA has it that Mr. WELCOME ARIYE was released last night after being beaten up and seriously injured by the ruthless soldiers.

His phone was taken away and never returned. He was told to run into the bush along the Omelema-Okpeden road in Abua Odual.
Electoral intimidation is at its peak!

We call on the authorities concerned to wade in and stop this madness. Nigeria is a democratic country!

The following PDP members were last night arrested by men of the Nigerian Army under the command of Maj General Jamil Sarham,GOC 6 Division of the Nigerian Army

1. Mr Boomni Edum,
2. Idiokwu Okuru,
3. Arunmo Uzor,
4. Ariye Welcome,
5. Emmanuel Owunari, and
6. Mr Idereghi Ipalibo.

The Soldiers who are moved in 5 Army trucks were led by APC chieftain Mr Udi Odum. The Soldiers first went to the APC Chieftains house at Ogbema were he then led them to Otaga, Omelema and Ayama communities to arrest PDP members.

Similar incidences of attacks by Maj Gen Jamil Sharman's soldiers were recorded in Eleme and some other LGAs in Rivers State.
