As governorship election approaches more than three political parties in the state on Thursday resolved to form an alliance with the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA to defeat the ruling APC in the state. The parties which include the Zenith Labour Party, the Labour Party and KOWA party and other political parties who have equally indicated interest expressed worries over the insecurity and poverty that have ravaged the state.

One of the candidates Umar Akwe-Doma (son of former Governor Aliyu Akwe-Doma) in his address during a courtesy visit said Maku is someone he respect because of his passion for the developtment of Nasarawa state which every concern indigenes of the state could wish to meet for the progress of Nasarawa state.

Maku, who is the National Secretary of APGA, left the PDP where he served as commissioner, deputy governor and Minister to join APGA when he was rigged out of the primaries in favour of the least of all aspirants on ethnic and religious grounds. Maku ended in second place beating the PDP candidate with a very wide margin in the state during the 2015 general election. It is belived that it is his results that was swapped for Almakura.

While APGA is considered a weak party in the North, Labaran Maku has overtime showed that he what the people want is credible leadership. He is optimistic that people will vote base on crediblity NOT base on party loyalty. From his outings, Labaran Maku seem to be the most popular candidate among the three major contestants in the forth coming election. Here are pictures from some of his rallies.
