At the International Conference Center Abuja, INEC chairman announced in a press released at the INEC briefing, that 'yesterday million of Nigerians troops to the polling unit to elect in various states. Election are all about the people and Nigerians have have shown great strength in the choices made by Nigerians.'

'based on reports received by the agencies of the electoral commission reported that there was were various units that are yet to receive any electoral materials, and we responded by extending the time frame of the elections'.


'INEC has rectified many of the challenges that enable those polling units to exercise their voting rights. Despite that, there were, other polling units that still lacks the necessary equipment to vote. and as such in those polling units, Elections are either just being conducted or has just been concluded. e have concluded that the vote of every Nigerians is important and as such all those polling units shall be accorded with reasonable time to conclude their elections.' He said.

Speaking on the violence reported in some of the polling units, the Chairman of the INEC body has condemned such attacks and called on the general public to refrain from using violence for the purpose of election or anything for that.

'In Imo State, there has been reports that one of the perpetrators of election malpractice to the police. On the reports circulating on the facts that some of the political parties were not listed on the ballot papers. INEC Chairman said that, the problem was resolved in the polling units that were hit with such mistake.'

On the collation of ballot papers, the INEC Chairman revealed that Ekiti State have concluded all their collation of the elections undertaken in the state and is now on his way to present the results to the INEC collation office in Abuja. The INC Chairman also revealed that the INEC collation center will officially opened at 6:00pm today.

While being quizzed on whether it was true INEC has cancelled any election in any States, except where with authorized method, election were time frame was extended for some section of the polling units that got their electoral materials late.

In Conclusion, the INEC Chairman has called on all Nigerians to refrain from releasing any fake results claiming the winner of the elections. He said 'Please desist from making such statement. And from reporting fake news on social media.' This he said before he humorously denied any claims that he had stepped down from the office of the INEC Chairmanship.
