Why didn't you write this before election? All this unworthy analysis. If it's Buhari also, something else would be written too. Like a goal keeper who has been told where penalty kick is coming. This is not analysis.

It won't have mattered to the north where he failed woefully. Atiku did very well in the SW without a SW VP and results from the SE could have easily cancelled that
He could have had a landslide because yoruba's would have had options and considering the poor performance of this administration it could have helped a great deal

The igbos were ready to vote for Atiku (PDP) regardless of his running mate.

A good percentage of Yorubas were also ready to vote for him

But the north wasn’t going to vote for Atiku/ Obi against Buhari. It is completely impossible. Atiku would have been better off with a strong running mate from Kano or Sokoto.

So, you expect a north-north ticket? It would have been rejected.

1. Atiku surrounded himself with hopeless losers that lack integrity eg: Saraki
2. Atiku miscalculated by picking Obi as his running mate..He should have picked a fresh blood from the north.
3. Atiku was clearly not prepared...His plans for Nigeria/ strategies to move Nigeria forward were not clear enough and also lacked sincerity.
4. Atiku did not take advantage of the new kids on the block....by pulling the fresh blood (Sowore, Moghalu etc) to his side, by enticing/ embracing them with open hands.
5. Atiku’s fight against corruption strategy was not clear and also lacked sincerity
6. Atiku went back to ask for OBJ’s blessings...That showed most Nigerians his desperation to become the president...You just never eat what You’ve vomited.
7. Atiku f00led nobody but himself by visiting United States of America for less than 18 hours (by clearly using diplomatic connection/ privilage that was put together by Saraki)

It is very sad that Atiku couldn’t even win his hometown and also lost Kwara.

Many people here don't know what PMB means to average northerners. Even the then PDP chairman, Mu'azu told PDP in 2014 to know the type of things they will say about Buhari in the North because he's like god but pdp member doubted him and the rest is history.
Where is the red cap coordinator to save Atiku in Kano 44-0 tongue

The first mistake was his candidacy.

Kwankwaso would have been better.

True or not, atiku had baggage.

He may be better than buhari in terms of competence, but his baggage were too much.

Peter obi tried to brush up atiku candidacy among the educated, but it was not enough.

Dude!! This your number 1 played a major part in turning me off Atiku. Already Atiku is carrying a corruption baggage around then the person you decide to make your right hand man is Saraki, how foolish is that? I told my PDP friends then, they said "eh Saraki doesn't matter, he's just an opportunist" I said "Ok o". Also like you said his plans were not detailed at all. All he did was ride on the anti-Buhari sentiment, he thought that was enough. That's why he didn't find it important to go on and debate because Buhari wasn't there. Again I told my PDP friends that was a huge mistake cos he'll have used that time to sell himself and discredit Buhari without any interruption, they said it doesn't matter that eh Buhari sef didn't attend, again "Ok o". The Obj thing too, this is someone that said God will punish him if he supports Atiku, this was in a book he wrote less than 4 years ago, all of a sudden you want us to believe Atiku is now born again and the best thing for Nigeria. That just came off as two desperate guys that have made a deal to gain access to power. Again a lot of Atiku supporters refused to see this. Lets not even talk about the US visit, those things just contributed to the abrakadabra style of his campaign. Its kinda sad he lost the momentum he gained when he initially won his party primaries. If he has surrounded himself with different players, that might have been enough for him to win

Every idiot would have a stupid opinion. The only thing you should be talking about is why Buhari was so desperate, with the unprecedented rigging that took place across the country in favour of the APC. What has Atiku's so-called 'mistake' got to do with that?!

Either you must think you're clever (by half) and the rest of us are fools, or you're genuinely unwise. What's this stupid statement about?

We're talking about Buhari and Atiku, and you're here talking rubbish about some inconsequential collateral damage. Does rigging mean that you would blatantly rig your way to win every single polling unit, ward, LG, and state in the country? Please don't insult people's sensibilities with your idiocy. You're too old for that.

It doesn't matter if he had chosen somebody from southwest, they shared their vote for Jonathan and they also shared their vote to Atiku.
The major problem was the people that hijacked PDP before primary and after primary, they could not convince the political neutral in the north and other parts of Nigeria that they really love Nigeria. They behaved like people full of bitterness because they lost out in the power play, economic looting and relivance.
Check all major Atiku's supporters from the top policians to grass root supporters, they are very hateful, bitter and angry. Imagine coursing people, insulting people just because they did not vote for your choice.

The unwritten rule of Nigerian politics is that if a Northerner is running, he must pick a Southerner. If a Southerner is running, his vice must be from the North

A vice president and President cannot be from the same zone and one must be a Muslim and the other, a Christian

If Atiku, as I presume under your thesis, were to admit publicly to having been corrupt, wouldn't it be fair to assume there would be a clamour for him to return pilfered monies, probably preceded by a visit from the EFCC?

He was "vice president" not "President" hence the reason I said he should throw people under the bus and he wasn't part of the "immediate" past administration, you think if they had anything on him he will still be going up and down?
Re: Atiku’s Greatest Mistake by Nobody: 9:11am On Feb 26, 2019
I think Atiku may lose because PDP under estimated the power of APC in south south and south east,
And the foot soldiers(vote buyers) were not explored in the north
Above all pmb does not deserve 2nd term I pity Nigerians who easily allowed politicians to manipulate them with( imams, emir, chiefs, money and stomach infrastructure
Good luck to anybody that emerges as a winner

The topic supposed to be The greatest mistake of pdp not greatest mistake of Atiku.
The moment pdp picked atiku as their presidential candidate, i knew pdp have lost. Have u forgotten the word of Obj who said over his dead body will atiku be president. Spiritually obj have known atiku will never be president. 4get obj came out to say he forgive atiku. Secondly as pdp accepted saraki into the party
This has caused more problem to the PDP. Kwara was pdp before saraki decamped to pdp. Though many people don't like Buhari govt but those that voted apc did so because they see atiku as not the best alternative we need in this country.

All these rants are bull-crap....APC/buhari were hell bent on rigging, they didnt bother to campaign on issues cos they had nothing to show for their first 4years!!..

Therefore rigging was the only strategy they had and they used it!!

Do not bother about Atiku because come what may he is Fulani, and a millionaire..He will be fine!!!!

.APC will simply be left for Tinubu and co in 2023 if Yorubas insists on being the President...The ever predictable Northerners will troop to PDP and will support any northerner who emerges ...ATIKU inclusive.

Bother yourselves with the lot of the common man/Southerner cos this coming four years will be the "NEXT LEVEL" of pain, anguish, hunger and death....Bother about the stupiddity of the average Southerner (if you are one)who at this point is still oblivious to the danger lurking and on the verge of rearing its ugly head

As we speak,Northerners are hinting that Yorubas betrayed them and will be dealt with in due course...Take those subtle threats which will gradually build up and come to a head in 2023 at your peril..

Book mark that cos the plot is thickening!..Peace.
