An eye witness has sent in some images at the Fagba-Iju area of Lagos state. The images show CCECC preparing the ground for the laying of the railway tracks. Remember that the Lagos-Ibadan railway is meant to cover 3 states which are Lagos, Ogun and Oyo. While a test run has started from Iju to Abeokuta axis, Lagos and Ibadan axis are yet to be completed.

Just 2 weeks ago, the Nigerian Railway Commission received some new coaches from China, these coaches will be used to run the Lagos-Ibadan Railway and the Kaduna-Abuja axis while they await new delivery.

These are some images we are able to get from our source.

Any appointment that can not translate to direct development is useless

Has the free train ride started?

2mercy:
The free train ride announced last Friday by the minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on the Lagos-Abeokuta section of the Lagos Ibadan standard gauge rail being test-run is yet to commence, Daily Trust checks revealed.

The free service to be run by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) were to commence on Saturday, a day after a ceremonial train ride by Amaechi and other dignitaries including the Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

The section being test-run is 62 kilometres beginning from Iju in Lagos which is Kilometre 21 to Kilometre 82 at Laderin, Abeokuta in Ogun state.

Many residents had looked forward to the free service as from Saturday.

But checks by our correspondent showed that the service is yet to commence as at Monday.

Sources disclosed that the NRC management today decided to print tickets for the services with a view to control the crowd of people that are likely to turn up for the free service.

One of the sources said, “We are envisaging that many people would turn up for the free service and to control the crowd, the management met today (Monday) and decided that large amount of tickets should be printed for the service.

“The ticket would be ready today or latest tomorrow (Tuesday). With the tickets available, we can manage the crowd that would show up for the free ride. Once the coaches are filled, we will stop issuing tickets until another train comes”.

When contacted, spokesman of the NRC, Mahmood Yakubu confirmed that the free services would commence this week unfailingly, saying tickets were being printed for the services.

Common government indiscretions (since 1960)
By the time the tracks are ready, government will still spend money to restore the coaches from deterioration.

Some SW voters were incensed by PMB's slow response to the herdsmen crisis, this group of voters didn't trust PMB to protect them anymore...

You are the useless one here... Can you compare those who govern Lagos to the puppies Saraki put at the helm of affairs. When Fashola is standing people like FATAI Ahmed shouldn't be 100 Miles close. If Saraki had brought in people with IQ and they performed wonderfully nobody will paint him bad but niggie believed his Friday rituals (One wrap of Eba and 200 naira) is enough to tie down the people for life.
