@Poster see a previous write -up below to help you.

PROFESSIONAL CV
As a job seeker, you should take note that your CV is a marketing tool.  It should present your strengths and trends of your career to a prospective employer; in fact it should ‘whet the appetite’ of the person doing the CV selection so much that you get shortlisted for the interview.
As much as it is possible, get additional information about the job, the company or the industrial sector the company belongs to.  For instance, why are they recruiting? Is it as a result of expansion or due to a new contract won by the company? Or it may be a replacement; find out what happen to the ex-employee, the company may be launching a new product/service or opening a new branch or division.  Visit the company or their website and gather as much information as may be helpful in putting your CV together and in applying for the job.
The main objective of writing a CV is to be shortlisted for the interview; your goal is to get the job.
 Be as concise and coherent as possible
When preparing your CV, try to jot down all the skills and work experiences you have, including community/pro bono work, Student work experience like Industrial training, research/project experience, holiday job, NYSC experience, responsibility at the Church or mosque, your father’s/mothers company/business/shop.  Then arrange or sift these to arrive on which one to include in this particular CV.  You should however note the genetics maxim that ‘no two individual are exactly alike’ - you cannot use the same CV for different job applications; you have to constantly change or re-arrange your CV to suit whatever position you are applying for based on the job advert information.
 Always keep a copy of the job advert; it always comes handy when you are preparing for the interview.

CV FORMAT:
Use a reader-friendly format. It is generally acceptable to use any of these 2 fonts below when typing your CV (or something very close to it). Research has confirmed that words typed in any of these fonts are easier to read by majority of people e.g.
1. Verdana (the font that I used in typing this article)
2. Calisto MT
Please leave the flowery, handwriting script or italics to generic names of plants or organism and ‘Dramatist or Fine Artist’!!!

PERSONAL DATA
 You should only give out information that will enhance your chance of getting the job.  Avoid unnecessary information about your religious belief, marital status, state or town of origin, ethnic, age, no of children etc.  Unless the employer specifically asks for it in the job advert.

 If possible, arrange your name in a manner that will make it to be easily remember e.g. an applicant name Mary Oluwabunmi Sulaiman.

To arrange this: Mary SULAIMAN should be on the first page of the CV while the middle/other name (Oluwabunmi) is provided under the “Personal data’ section usually on last page unless the job advert says otherwise

 Create/Use email address that contains your name e.g. your first name or surname or both – to make it easier to associate your email with your name

 If you are asked to attach your CV electronically use your first name and surname as the file name when you are saving the file – it helps when candidates’ applications and attachments are being sorted

 Give clear contact information: address, phone numbers and email

 You may put a scanned copy of your passport sized photograph on the CV if you are applying for a position that requires extensive contact with people (customers) to enhance your chance.  However, this may make your CV heavier electronically so you have to weigh the balance.
SPECIAL SKILL AND HOBBIES/INTERESTS
 Showcase all the positive experiences or skills that you have/mastered in relation to the position e.g. ability to drive, speak a particular language, play a musical instrument, write a story, sing, compose songs, draw, take photograph, swim, play soccer, play chess, etc

 Just read between the lines of the advert and match your skill/experience to the type of business/product/services that the prospective employer is engaged or about to be engaged in.  However, be as truthful and factual as possible; don’t make up imaginary skills that you have not mastered you may be ask to demonstrate this during the interview process.
WORK EXPERIENCES
 Arrange your work experience in an order that will put you closer to the advertised position e.g. if the advert is for a marketing executive; your work experience section should begin with your experience in marketing irrespective of when and how short/long you actually worked in that field.

 Present bullet points of responsibilities and their impact on the company’s/organizations business while you handled those responsibilities i.e. your individual achievements or the impact on the profit/bottom line of the company.

 No knowledge is entirely useless; please include details of your Industrial training, holiday jobs and NYSC work experience
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
 Arrange by beginning with your highest qualification e.g. master degree or doctorate degree

 Showcase your achievement e.g. distinction in a course or first class degree, dean’s honour’s list, best graduating student etc

 When listing your master degree and doctorate degree you may need to mention your area of study or research topic or supply an abstract of your research; the research contribution to knowledge etc (if it is going to enhance your chance)
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
 Showcase this if you have any e.g. ICAN membership or ACCA, Member of Chemical Society of Nigeria, Nigeria Institute of Management, Microsoft Certified Engineer, CISCO certification, registered engineer, etc

 Provide the date you obtained the qualification/membership and your registration number or membership number where available.  You may need to mention the awarding body e.g. for Registered Engineer - Nigerian Society of Engineer (NSE), COREN etc
REFERENCES
 Never use a relative or a spouse as a reference

 It is recommended that you use past employer or professional colleague as a reference.  It is only appropriate to use your college professor or lecturer as a reference if you are just out of school

 Write reference name in full and provide telephone number/email/website (when available) in addition to the contact address of the reference

 Contact your references in advance and if possible give them information about the position/job you are applying for and the probability of them being contacted by the potential employer to inquire about you.

My best advice is for you to look at examples of good cvs and use them as your guide.
There are certain considerations that should be borne in mind when writing a cv,
simply google cv and you will come up with good examples. Goodluck
