Dear Nairalanders. The 2019 Presidential election has come and gone, so let's live in harmony with one another. It's surprising to see some ethnic e-warriors who started screaming on this forum since the results were officially announced that the Yorubas betrayed the Southern agenda/interest or that the Yorubas betrayed the S/east by voting for Buhari. ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS IN BOTH REGIONS. SOUTHEAST APC=403,968 PDP=1,693,485 SOUTHWEST APC=2,036,450 PDP= 1,776,670 From the above analysis, even if we assume for the sake of their assumptions that Atiku is good and Buhari is evil, any fair minded and Objective analyst can see that the S/West gave Atiku/PDP greater votes than the S/East. 3 Likes 1 Share |

So Atiku even got more votes in the south west than the South East? Yet, the Igbos will be shouting Afonja. 3 Likes

PDP never expected it... hehehehehe..u are only answerable to the Gambaris... they felt betrayed, southwest was their perceived stronghold, but lo and behold! they were shocked.. |

The funny thing is add south west vote for Apc to atiku ...buhari would still win So the south west should stop over feeling themselves ....the north made buhari president ..thats why he focuses more in the north 1 Like 2 Shares |

1) In democracy, every citizens vote based on his/her conscience. The concept of betrayal is inappropriate to describe electoral choices. 2) In Nigeria, political parties and not individuals or TRIBES contest elections. If Buhari had contested on the platform of labour party or APGA, he would have lost. 3) All politics is local. There is a growing resentment against the APC in Osun and Oyo States due to the ways the APC State Governments are running the States ,thereby demarketing the party. There are many diehard PDP members/supporters/fans in the S/west. There are indigenes of Osun/Oyo States who suffered the economic mismanagement of Aregbesola/Ajimobi administrations with transferred aggression against Buhari/APC and used the election to show their grievances. Gov Ajimobi of Oyo State was defeated in the senatorial election and Aregbesola (a one time most beloved politician in Osun State) could not even contest to avoid electoral humiliation and the PDP eventually won his Ife-Ijeshsa senatorial district. The sentiments that Osinbajo is on the ticket didn't appeal to well educated Yoruba people who are against the economic /political policies of the APC. stephleena: 2 Likes |
