Ruggedman is reacting to the calling out by the fast rising rap artiste, A-Q did on his latest single ‘Names’. AQ rapped that “We don’t say autotune, we say Jesse Jagz – We don’t say whack, we say Ruggedman is whack” and it was later reported as a ‘diss’ at the two artistes while some have reported it to be a publicity stunt which AQ addressed in a recent interview with NEXT newspaper – “If it is for a publicity, I would go after Naeto C or M.I.”.

As far as am concerned, talent is just one side of d coin, impact is d other side. That's y rugged, mode, mi stand out cos they had both at a point in time. Its only in naija that new school rappers go after previous generation rappers and frankly its insane. Common is a better rapper than rakim now but knows that rakim doin wat he did @ that time puts him on a higher pedestal forever. Same applies for Drake and fresh prince.Frankly rugged re-defined naija rap and made it a seriuos art that cud be place alongside mainstream naija music. U might argue if he didnrt do it someone else. Might have but as it stands, he was in d right place at d rightb time so he takes d accolades.

ruggedman was feeling himself just few years back, after a lil taste of fame he felt he was on top, and now moved to set up a clothing line, which i would admit is reasonable because i'd do the same if i where in his shoes- invest my money!!

but he forgot the music that got him his first big break and fame, so MI and Naeto c popped up on the scene and shove him off the charts, feeling displaced he quickly released an impromptu single, didnt trip me @ all, and dat still didnt get him anywhere, the challenge was just too great for him, running out of ideas, nothing dey to sing again

Instead of the mugu to focus on improving his skills so as to snipe out these new acts from the charts he went on a goose chase, fighting for indemnity from 9ice all because of a song he sang, something that didnt concern him as if they mentioned his name, looking for who to blame for defaming him, he put it on 9ice and his once bitten twice shy track!!

Before, he was my favorite i mean compared to modenine, terry da rap man, and dat one dat calls himself sanchez, but since these new breed of artistes came (MI, Jesse Jags and Naeto C) i would say he is no where near to droppin the kinda shiiit these boyz cook !!
