Explanation of the Beautiful Name of Allah.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever-Merciful. Verily to Allah belongs the best of names and attributes, He says:

‘And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allah, so call on Him by them, and leave the company of those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His Names. They will be requited for what they used to do.’ Holy Qur’an, Suratul ‘Araf: 180

The Names and Attributes of Allah have always existed since before creation. The bringing of creation into existence did not in anyway add to His Attributes. The creations of the mankind on earth, the Jinns in the unseen world, the angels up high, the shrubs on the mountains, the lives in the oceans, the soaring birds in the sky, the oasis and dunes in the deserts and all that is left did not make Allah attain the additional attributes as the Creator of the creatures. It was never after the act of creation or origination did He attain the attribute of ‘Al Khaliq’ [The Creator] or ‘Al Badii’ [The Originator].

He was always the Lord even when there was nothing to be Lorded over, and always the Creator even when there was no creation. He alone has this attributes and nothing can be comparable to Him. As a way to explain this scenario; a doctor will only be called a Doctor right after passing through the necessary education, obtaining the required degree and achieving the feat, then he can take on the title. This similitude is applicable to every facet in this life but never will this be used to explain the status of Allah nor is this applicable to the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. Allah says:
‘... There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.’ Holy Qur’an, Suratul Shura: 11

The attributes of Allah are distinctive and must not be changed, for the deep meanings can only be explained by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and upon the understanding of the companions, for only through that, will we be able to affirm their true definitions. The Attributes of Allah must not be questioned nor denied nor compared to that of His creations.
Confirming the Name of Allah necessitates the confirmation of an attribute. For example, Ar-Raheem { The Most Merciful } is a Name and its Attribute necessitates the affirmation of Mercy. Furthermore, we need to know that the affirmation of an attributes does not necessitates the affirmation of a Name. For example, Kalaam { Speech } is an Attribute of Allah but does not necessitates the affirmation of a name, Al- Mutakallim.

The Beautiful Name of Allah; Al Haleem [ The Forbearing ]

The name of Allah, Al-Haleem’ {The Forbearing} is deeper in meaning, for it does not just connote Forbearance, but also encompasses forgiveness, pardon, respite and mercy.
How do you feel when the one whom you offend sees you and he is capable of meting out a punishment, but yet, he looks away, and not only that, he doesn’t speak of it? We will be overwhelmed with incomparable joy, for we were saved from an expected embarrassment, disgrace and chastisement {To Allah belongs the best of similitude}

Our sins and our misdeeds, the ones perpetrated in secret and open, the Supreme Creator sees and He is aware and able to mete out the prescribed punishment, but still, He gives respite. It is not that He is unable or powerless but He extends and gives us an intermission, for perhaps, the penitent slave will be remorseful and give in to repentance or be grateful to Him for the cessation of the punishment and not bringing unto him, destruction for what his hands have earned.
The Forbearance of Allah is similar to none. Let me regale you with the verse of the Glorious Qur’an, Allah says:

‘Allah will not call you to account for that which is unintentional in your oaths,…
(The forbearance of Allah covers mistakes and inadvertent oaths)
but He will call you to account for that which your hearts have earned.
As for your strong resolution in making oath, for that you will be questioned
And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Forbearing.’
Here comes the mercy of Allah, a way to calm down the nerves of those who have wronged themselves in making oath, and not just lull but it is coupled with pardon and forgiveness.
Holy Qur’an, Suratul Baqarah: 225

PRACTICE:

‘... And know that Allah knows what is in your minds, so fear Him. And know that Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Forbearing.’ Holy Qur’an, Suratul Baqarah: 235
Let us remember and put it in mind that the respite of Allah will cover the servant of Allah until the inevitable comes for his soul, nor the sun rises from where It sets. So let us make it an unavoidable practice, to always seek forgiveness from Allah for our misdeeds and be thankful to Him for His Patience and Forbearance.

DUAA:

‘ There is none worthy of worship but Allah, The Mighty,The Most Forbearing. There is none worthy of worship but Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is none worthy of worship but Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, and the Lord of the Noble Throne.
O Allah, I hope for your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for the blinking of an eye. Correct all my affairs for me. There is none worthy of worship but you.’

Explanation Of The Beautiful Name Of Allah; Al Wahhab

Verily, all praises and adoration belong to Allah, we thank Him, we seek His help, we seek for His pardon, we solicit His refuge from the evils of our souls and from the misdeeds which our hands sent forth. Verily, whosoever Allah guides, none can misguide, whosoever Allah leaves to his misguidance, none can guide. We testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, who has no associates nor partners.

We ask Him to place His peace and blessings upon the Imam of the Prophets, the Leader of the pious, the Seal of Prophet-hood, Muhammad bn Abdullah ﷺ, and upon his household, his companions and the entirety of Muslims till the day in which neither wealth nor children will be of no benefit except the one who brings to Allah a clean heart (clean from shirk and hypocrisy).

The Beautiful Name of Allah; Al Wahhab [ The Bestower ]
Allah ﷻ in His Majesty, have His Names filled with beauty in their pronunciations, awesomeness in their meaning and they are classic in their comprehension.

Al Wahhab: -The Bestower of Bounty

- The Granter of Largesse

- The Giver of Endowment

None can bestow, except the one with a provision, and none can attain the title of ‘The Bestower’ except the one that is provision never ends and that is Allah, Al Azeezul Wahhab (The All-Mighty, The Real Bestower). From our sense organs, to our body composition, from our necessities to our luxuries, He alone has the ability to grant whatsoever He wills to whosoever He wills. He extends His bounties to both believers and disbelievers for He is ‘Dhul Tawli’(The Bestower).

The One who gives endlessly, never awaiting praise nor reward. His giving to the disbelievers is an attestation that He expects neither praise nor reward, for a disbeliever does not even acknowledge Him. His giving to the believers is out of His love and mercy.

Our belief should be firm and resolute that no one can give bounty except Allah, this is the shariah of those who came before us and our shariah too. Allah narrates to us the story of Prophet Ibrahim, when he said:

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَى ٱلۡكِبَرِ إِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَسَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ

"All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has given me in old age Isma'il (Ishmael) and Ishaq (Isaac). Verily! My Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations.

-Surah Ibrahim: 39

For such bounties of sons at old age and not just ordinary sons, but Prophets, he praises none but The Real Bestower - Allah.

Again, we regale us with the story of Prophet Sulayman;

He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower."

-Sura Sad, Ayah 35

The Prophet of Allah, Muhhamad bn Abdullah ﷺ taught us a strong duaa that shows the belief of Muslims and their creed. He said:

“O Allah, there is none who can withhold what You give, and none may give what You have withheld, and the might of the mighty person cannot benefit him against You.”

Why will a believer be in fear and grief when he has The Bestower of bounty?

Why will he look for his provisions in what is haram, when The Bestower will even give to a disbeliever?

Why will he stoop so low to beg the creatures for sustenance, when the provisions with ‘The Bestower’ is endless and never perishing?

Raise your hands to him, ask Him, He knows best how it will get to you.

PRACTICE:
O my honorable brothers and sisters in Islam. Know that what is with Allah is better and will last forever. So make it an act to ask Him. He bestows and He is never tired of giving for His hands are fully outstretched and He gives as He wills.

DUAA:
“Our Lord! Let not our heart deviate, now, after you have guided us. And grant us Mercy from Your very presence. For You are the Bestower of bounties without measure.”
