I just discovered that nigeria has unique business opportunities but I wonder what nigerian youths are doing to grab this opportunities.
I know u guys would say there is no money or capital to start a business.i've discovered that 4 u 2 start a small bizness, u need 2 learn how 2 manage a bizness. the operational/logistics,marketing and financial issues of your business are very important.
the consultancy firm i'm working for in lekki,lagos is trying 2 restructure chisco transport ltd b/c they are not functioning to their expected level. most of the workers here are not willing to work.everybody,except a few,are busy doing nothing.chisco has the largest fleet of buses nationwide,but fail to have full buses when they leave.people's choices are abc N ekene dili chukwu.
what am driving at is that managing ur business is more important than capital.

having a cassava plantation is good but how do u manage the logistics/operations of the plantation?
you can do this by having an operations, manager who's job responsible 4 the daily running of your farm,also u need a marketing manager, who's in charge of sales/marketing/advertising n promotion ,u also need a finance/accounts manager who manages the money you make and the money you spend.you have to have an hr/admin manager,who's job is to hire n fire workers n the administration of ur company.
finally you need to hire a security manager who secures your business.
you must know who reports to who n who supervises who.everybody who works 4 u must know his/her responsibilities n what she/he gets in return.

the problem we have in the agricultural industry is that majority of the rural poor,who use their farm produce to feed themselves and provide solutions to their needs.
we have few large scale farms which are owned by the nigerian elite.
packaging and distribution is another source of concern. few of our farm products are packaged well. distribution of these farm produce is a headache to most farmers.

the agriculture and mining businesses are concerned with the production of raw materials, such as plants and minerals, for use in other industries or businesses. it is one of the most important industries, because other industries need the products earlier mentioned for them to function. plants are used for food and production of drugs. they are also used as by-products in the manufacturing industries. minerals are also important in the manufacturing and power industries .

the financial industry is made up of institutions such as banks, insurance companies, stock broking firms, pension funds etc, which generate profit or income through the investment or management of capital (money). that is, making, managing and multiplying your money.

manufacturers are people or companies that produce items or goods from raw materials gotten from the agricultural and mining industries. they then sell these goods or products at a profit. most of these products include cars, pipes, handsets, electronics, furniture , clothes etc.

Real estate, is a type of business that generates income/profit from the sale, renting and development of landed properties, homes and buildings eg lands and properties.
