Iamgrey5:The late Adedibu allowed for all inclusiveness and he had issues with some Ibadan chiefs over his support for the ascension of Alao Akala simply because of his non Ibadan origin. Now truth be told, Ibadan/Yorubaland has been historically accommodating but modern day politicians have contaminated the whole thing. This is not different from the Igbos. don't forget that a Fulani onxe won election in Enugu and Isaac Boro, Ijaw, won SUG Presidency in Igbo dominated UNN against Igbo contenders. The problem are the politicians not the people |

Funny thing is that this foolish tribal e-war is only on Nairaland, out there yoruba's and igbo's are still doing business in Alaba, Ketu,Tejuosho, Idumota, still inter marrying between themselves. Reason why I don't bother to take any of these tribal trolls serious. They bark online meanwhile their opinion doesn't count in the real word. 1 Like |

luvmijeje:Ohanaeze is a group of some people, they doesn't represent the Igbo 100%. We have seen some Igbos challenging their stand on some issues. Don't forget that some of them are politicians and may be deliberately playing the card for some interest. As for IPOB? Really? You should have ignored them. Now BG is a politician, he never had mandate of Igbos in Lagos to speak. There was no referendum as to know the position of Igbo people in Lagos but a lot of them are not politicians nor interested much beyond participating in voting for candidates of choice. It is very inappropriate to transfer aggression on the innocent, it is undemocratic |

TonyeBarcanista:It is like you don't understand. Ibos began saying Lagos is no man's land right from 2012 or so. Prior to that, they were allowed to thrive and vote for their choice. Things have changed and anything they do today i being cross checked by Yoruba. Most Yoruba are not against PDP. But since majority of Ibos support PDP, many Yorubas are against the party -- simply because of Ibos that call our land a no mans land. Also, I am certain that most of Jimi agbaje (over 50 percent) are Yorubas. PDP always win at least 40 percent of other south west states not because of Non indigenes but bed of Yoruba people. Yorubas are not against other tribes but only Ibos. As for this governorship election, Ibos will see hell. Election is five days from now. 2 Likes |

TonyeBarcanista:The problem Ibadan people had with Akala back then was the perceived betrayal of Ladoja not his Ogbomosho background. He passively took part in the impeachment of Ladoja and even had the guts to run a mock PDP primary election before Ladoja mandate was returned to him through the Courts. I believe he won the first time by the slightest of margins and he decided start insulting Ibadan people's intelligent. Hence, they paid him back in his own coin during the election. Ibadan is a liberal place bruv |

TonyeBarcanista: Nobody is transferring aggression. APC is only playing the tribal politics every other tribe is guilty of. That is why I was begging them to stay off Lagos politics. If they keep low, we'll be able to vote on merit and not on tribe. Do you think any sane Yoruba will vote PDP who is being backed by those who said Lagos is no man's land? 1 Like |

luvmijeje:You can't beg people to stay "off" politics that they have stake. This is same way Hausa community have stake in Lagos and everywhere. Your anger is than they aren't towing along the APC establishment line as it was in 2003, 2007 and 2011. And no sane Yorubaman will vote against a candidate on basis of going against the wishes of Igbos or any other group like we saw 2 Saturdays ago |

[s] TonyeBarcanista:[/s] 1. So, you do agree that Tinubu and Yoruba people have nothing sinister against ibo people and Tinubu did more than any governor in Nigeria to accommodate and promote ibo ahead of other non indigenous ethnic folks in Nigeria, but the same ibo people can not stand Tinubu, to them, Tinubu is the devil and everything bad and distasteful about Nigeria. 2. The election in Lagos state is between Sanwo Olu and Agbaje, but ibo people turned it into anti Tinubu election with their o to ge rubbish as if he's on the ballot. 3. You can not whitewash their hate, their bigoted way of life and anti social behavior. Are other ethnic groups in Lagos are not shouting everyday, year after year insulting and denigrating Yoruba people that Lagos is no man's land. Try address the crude, crass and anti social and communal disturbance the same ibo people unleash on Yoruba people and the frictions they create in Lagos state and other parts of Nigeria. 4. The Deji of Akure closed ibo shops in Akure a few years ago, do you know why? ibo people went to his palace to ridicule and insult him right inside his palace while siting on his throne. 5. They voted for against PMB in many elections, but the Northern did not harass them for exercising their franchise, but fast forward. 6. Election or no election, Obi or no Obi, these are just crude, crass and anti social people that I really don't think they can be members of any sane and lawful society. Yo are always off point with illogical and irrelevant arguments 3 Likes 1 Share |

The shoeshiner has stake in Lagos or anywhere he operates because his craft will be affected should anything good or bad happens. I believe we are educated! Having stake doesn't translate to having ownership! And I bet that YOU CANNOT go to Ibadan or Ogbomoso to aspire for any political office there EVEN if you are Yoruba except you are from there within the present political environment, only Lagos and FCT afford that even though our constitution gives everyone right. I'm sure you know what happened to Solomon Adeola in Ogun state even though he's from there. |

TonyeBarcanista: Bro, "it is his ( a politician's) business to arouse fears that will run in favour of him. Worse, he must not only consider the weaknesses of the mob, but also the prejudices of the minorities that prey upon it. Some of these minorities have developed a highly efficient technique of intimidation. They not only know how to arouse the fears of the mob; they also know how to awaken its envy, its dislike of privilege, its hatred of its betters" I just quoted from the classic THE DISEASE OF DEMOCRACY by Henry Louis' Mencken. Bro you are living in delusion if you don't know that what powers this system of government called DEMOCRACY is KNACKING peoples heads against each other. If you care you can get enlightened here. http://www.ditext.com/mencken/democracy.html |

What public office is he running from like Saraki that you are trying to deny him like they did in Kwara against Saraki? Where is the connection between both men.? You people come up with the most senseless and illogical rubbish ever. The issue here is your hate and bigoted sentiments against Tinubu, of course. luvmijeje:Your issue and rage is that some of these Igbos are challenging the political establishment in APC, an establishment you believe in. Now NO democracy works that way. You either pacify this group or you work towards a greater majority to defeat them- threats of violence or violence itself doesn't help here! Do you know why MC Oluomo had that peace meeting? It's simple! He realised that only through appeal and not threat or inflicting violence will help his party. In the past, most non Yoruba in Lagos were with Tinubu, he never achieved that through threat. As for Northerners, that they may be silent or choose to align with the political establishment you align with doesn't mean they aren't involved in Lagos politics. This is why ALL aspirants visit the Sarkin Hausa to solicit for votes of their members |

OriakuAmara:I don't know if you have problem with reading or comprehension. You keep attacking Tinubu even when the writer of this article clearly stated that Tinubu himself is quite liberal. If you can't see the problem in your brother's antagonistic behavior then you seriously need to work on yourself. Ibos are not the only non-yorubas in Lagos, in fact! ibos are not the first non Yorubas to be in Lagos. Yet, you are more interested in changing the political landscape and leadership of Lagos more than changing the political landscape of some your ibo states which are clearly not working. Some of you are even interested in changing the whole history of Lagos to reflect your fantasies. When Lagos asked for special economic recognition just over two years ago, all the Senators from South/south and south East kicked against it When Lagos asked to keep some of the Tarrifs coming from its ports, Most of you kicked against it. As a result of this, Kano collects more federal allocation than Lagos You are advocating for more ports in South/south and south east You are advocating for Biafra Still, you want to produce representatives in Lagos. The election is no longer about Tinubu. It's now about our Land. You have all shifted the narrative. You will never catch Tinubu playing tribal politics. Because he get sense die. But can that be said of APC members online and offline. On the election day, the polling agents will be passing that information to Yorubas who will vote. The Northerners are quiet. They have courtesy. Learn from them. |

You have to give it to some people. My country likes to pull itself down. All ideologies and beliefs that are inimical to progress are what sells in that country. Maybe it is our superstitious past, I do not know. People follow Reno Omokri all over the place, but few people are aware that Atiku's business partner, Volpi invested over $500 million in Wale Tinubu's Oando which may have been on behalf of Atiku. The interest of the elites are intertwined, they can fight but they will still be on top because of their networks. The case is even worse in the north, where whether it is PDP or APC, the elites are so connected in business and marriage that they will still survive. The joke on is the people, as long as we are stupid and continue to promote regressive views, progress will be hard. |
