Few days to the Ondo State House of Assembly election, political parties have intensified their campaigns for their candidates across the state.

The campaigns which started immediately after the results of presidential and National Assembly elections were announced last week cut across all the 18 local governments in the state through door-to-door and house to house campaigns.

In the coming election, 325 candidates were fielded by 32 political parties to contest for 26 House of Assembly seats out of 73 existing parties in the state.

It would be recalled that the governorship election in the state will not hold until next year.

Speaking with The Hope, the State Chairman of the APC, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, said the party has embarked on door to door and house to house campaign as directed by the state governor that all the party’s leaders should return to their units to canvass for the votes of electorate and reconcile dispute led to failure of APC to win the presidential and some National Assembly seats that in the state.

The directive, he affirmed is yielding positive outcome as leaders in the party have successfully settled disputes at their various units.

“With the positive results, APC will triumph in the election,” he said

Adetimehin noted that APC in the state has realised what transpired during the presidential and National Assembly elections and it has warned its members not to allow such in the coming Saturday’s election.

Also, the State Administrative Secretary, Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Olumide Ogunkua disclosed that the party has embarked on road show, door to door and outskirt campaigns to further spread and campaign for all the candidates of the party in all 26 constituencies ahead of the poll.

He expressed optimism that the party will repeat the landslide victory it recorded in the last elections in the coming State House of Assembly poll.

He reiterated commitments of the people in the state to give their votes to PDP as a party to serve them better.

‘The expected victory will further consolidate victory the party recorded in the last polls.” he boasted

On his part, Mr. Bisi Ogungbemi the State Chairman of African Democratic Congress, ADC, pointed out that the party will coast home to victory due to the door to door and house to house campaigns it has engaged in before and after Saturday February 23 ,2019 general elections.

He said the mode of campaign of the party centred on the need for people to vote for all the party’s candidates and refrain from vote buying.

“Our party ADC has been campaigning against vote buying or selling their conscience during election to money bag politicians,” said.
