Scope of work:

Offshore Construction Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient execution and delivery of offshore operations to the satisfaction of the Client and Project Manager and in accordance with statutory regulations, Company rules and objectives.
Functionally reports to: Vessel Operations Manager Operationally reports to: Project Managers, Offshore Personnel Manager, Technical Manager, Onshore Construction Superintendent.

Directly supervises (operationally): Vessel Construction Crew

Ensure that operational performance is in line with the project schedule and expectation.
Ensure that all records and documents required by legislation, Company and Client are maintained and readily available.
Maintain good communications and relations with the Client, project management, onshore management team and the offshore management team at all times.

Minimize the cost of operations while maintaining optimum operational performance.
Ensure all project equipment is operated and deployed in accordance with its design and operating parameters.
Ensure the operations team are fully briefed on workscopes and understand their duties.
Attendance at project, hazid meetings.Ensure appraisals of the Construction Crew are carried out timely as a minimum.
Convening and recording daily onboard operations meetings, project and safety briefings.

Skills and background required:

Engineering degree or similar tertiary qualification to Higher National Certificate (HNC) standardvOPITO accredited Rigging and Lifting Supervisory qualifications.
Appropriate electrical or mechanical trade qualification (City and Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level 3, Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent)

Detailed knowledge and understanding of offshore subsea construction and/or pipelay processes, including a good working knowledge of cranes, rigging, lifting, QHSE and operational procedure

S-LAY Experience onboard DP Vessels (Essential for S-Lay Vessels)
Flex-lay Experience onboard DP Vessels (Essential for Flex-lay Vessels)

Extensive experience in a similar role or role/s (e.g. Assistant Offshore Construction Manager)
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and other relevant technical documents
Good understanding and working knowledge of QHS&E safety management systems
Demonstrate sound understanding of management systems

Good understanding and working knowledge of current legislation and guidance
Good PC skills; written and spoken English.
