The International Football Association Board is the body saddled with the responsibility of determining the standard Laws of the Game governing football associations all over the world.

Founded in 1886, it acts as the custodian of the football game for international and national competitions. The IFAB comprises the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA), the Scottish Football Association (SFA), the Northern Ireland's Football Association (IFA), the Football Association of Wales (FAW), and the English Football Association (The FA).

The IFAB meets twice a year,the first known as the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is to decide changes to the game and; holds at the beginning of the year in Zurich (in a world cup year) or rotated amongst the other 4 associations. The second known as the Annual Business Meeting discusses its internal affairs.

FIFA has 4 votes and the other 4 associations with 1 each. Deliberations of IFAB must be approved with at least 6 votes and remains binding to football associations worldwide.

At its 133rd AGM in Aberdeen,Scotland on the 2nd March,2019; football has a set of new rules to take effect from 1st June,2019;
Leagues yet to end before June 01, 2019; the set of rules will take effect from next season;

HANDBALLS IN THE PENALTY AREA

From June 01,2019; goals scored that hits an opposing player's hands-voluntarily or involuntarily, will not count and will be disallowed.

Even goal-scoring opportunities that gets in contact with the hand, accidentally or otherwise will also be penalised.

SUBSTITUTED PLAYERS CAN LEAVE THE FIELD FROM ANYWHERE

When a player is substituted, he/she doesn't need to come off through the halfway line but instead can be permitted to leave from any point in the field.

DEALING WITH ATTACKING PLAYERS IN THE DEFENSIVE WALL

This rule forbids attacking players from been in the defensive 'wall',when a free-kick is about to be taken.

COACHES WILL RECEIVE RED CARDS

Until now, coaches misdemeanors are corrected using simple reprimands or sendings-off.

For now,they can receive both yellow and red cards like players.
