No one is portraying Islam as evil. If I'm not making a mistake, I think in Saudi Arabia last two weeks they sentenced 7 women to death because the were fighting for women right so women can drive a car. Two of the women right activist are still on the run, please sir what do you call that kind of attitude or behavior does it look kind on women? Is this kind of attitude not portraying Islam evil before the world? I have no problem with an Islamic man except the way they allow religion block their sense of reasoning.

#1: The Bible
The Bible, from the word biblia, meaning "the book" in Latin, is a collection of vastly different texts from different times, places, styles, and often contradictory sources, especially when you get into the weeds of the Old versus New Testament.

The Old Testament has some of the most violent and lustful stories ever told, starring the bearded badass Moses, while the New Testament's heartthrob Jesus taught us all that we need to love and perhaps punishments, depending on who you ask.

Yep, but it's true. Sorry, J.K. Rowling, but the Bible is the bestselling book series of all time, providing bedrock principles for 2.2 billion people worldwide. And honestly, don't be offended if I didn't mention your specific religious text, like the Quran or the Flying Spaghetti Monster Manual, because they all teach us something.
That's the book that will last till eternity, the rest are counterfeit.

That's not true Pakistan and Iraq have no business with Israel they are after bigger names like India and the US, as for Egypt they do not look for trouble meaning they don't fight Israel or any other country. Just in case you are not aware the Saudi and the Iranian military is feared because nobody knows much about their arsenal, if you also doubt check the records of Pakistan ISI and compare it to Israel's Mossad then you will know that the Arab world is also powerful and feared.

THE MOST AMAZING BOOK!

Compiled from the teachings of David Brandt Berg
amazing_book

Whether you accept and believe in its teachings or not, it cannot be denied that the Bible is the most remarkable, amazing and absolutely UNIQUE book that has ever been written! Of course, many people today sort of pooh-pooh and dismiss it because they cannot help but associate the Bible with the largely do-nothing Christianity that they have seen, and they figure, "If THAT'S the kind of religion the Bible teaches, then no thanks!--It's not for me!"

But if you realize that the religion of LOVE that Jesus TAUGHT, and the religious TRADITIONS that many Christians today PRACTICE have little or nothing to do with each other, then you can approach the Bible with out prejudice. If you have an OPEN mind and are sincerely SEARCHING for the TRUTH, you can sweep away all of man's false preconceived interpretations and you can delve down to the beautiful FOUNDATION of the Bible and see the true plan and how things are SUPPOSED to be! You will then discover that the Bible is NOT merely some kind of religious rulebook, but that it is the most wonderful, supernatural, miraculous, amazing, marvelous Book in the whole World!--Which has the answers to EVERYTHING!--WHERE we came from, HOW we got here, WHY we're here, how to SURVIVE and be HAPPY while here, and how to love and have happiness FOREVER!

But before deciding whether or not to accept and believe in this amazing Book, consider the following seven facts that set it aside as a truly UNIQUE Volume:

1.)The Bible is unique in its CONTINUITY.--It was written over a 1,500 YEAR time-span by over 40 authors from every walk of life, including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, shepherds, soldiers, poets, statesmen, scholars, etc.! Nevertheless, from beginning to end, its authors spoke on hundreds of controversial subjects with harmony and continuity, outlining one unfolding story: God's LOVE for man!
2.) The Bible has been READ BY MORE PEOPLE than ANY other book! It has out-sold every book that has ever been written and it STILL sells more copies every year than any other book in the World! But of course in the best-sellers lists they don't dare acknowledge that, that in spite of all man's writings and foolishness and fiction and ridiculous interpretations of history and reality, the BIBLE still out-sells them all! Another unique and related fact is that the Bible was the FIRST major book ever to be printed, on Gutenberg's press.
3) The Bible has been TRANSLATED and PUBLISHED IN MORE LANGUAGES than ANY other book in existence!--As far back as 1966 the WHOLE Bible had appeared in 240 languages and dialects, and one or more of its books appeared in 739 additional ones!
4) The Bible, compared with all other ancient writings, has MORE MANUSCRIPT EVIDENCE than any TEN pieces of classical literature COMBINED! Although originally written on perishable materials, having to be re-copied by hand for thousands of years before the invention of the printing press, it's style, correctness and accuracy has been preserved as no other book in all History! The Jews had special classes of scholars within their culture whose sole duty was to preserve and transmit the books of the Bible with PERFECT accuracy, counting the very consonants, vowels, syllables and words per manuscript as a means of double-checking. Literally THOUSANDS of ancient manuscripts in the original languages have been unearthed which PROVE, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the Scriptures have come down through the ages to us just as they were originally written!
5) The Bible has WITHSTOOD VICIOUS ATTACKS by its enemies as no other book. Many have tried to burn it, destroy it and outlaw it, from the days of the Roman emperors to some present-day anti-Christ countries. Its very existence today and the fact that its teachings and Truths have been preserved despite the countless campaigns and tirades against it is in itself MIRACULOUS!
6) Discovery after discovery by MODERN ARCHAEOLOGISTS have CONFIRMED and PROVEN the Bible's absolute accuracy and have proven it to be a source of HISTORY. Archaeologists following Old Testament references have rediscovered whole nations and resurrected entire peoples that the skeptics and critics once said were non-existent or imaginary. In fact, it can be stated categorically that NOT ONE archaeological discovery has EVER contradicted or cast doubt on a Biblical reference--all have CONFIRMED its accuracy!
7.)The Bible is the ONLY volume ever produced which contains a large amount of PROPHECIES accurately predicting the future of individual nations, peoples, cities, and the coming of One Who was to be the Messiah! Although the ancient world had many different devices for determining the future, NOWHERE in all of Greek and Latin literature can there be found ANY real specific prophecy of a great Historic event to come in the distant future. But the BIBLE is FULL of countless, detailed, specific prophecies, all of which have been miraculously FULFILLED and come true--except, of course, the final ENDTIME prophecies which are either to be fulfilled in the near future or are coming to pass right NOW!
What an AMAZING and REMARKABLE Book! Yet so many people today, who consider them selves so smart and so knowledgeable, ignore the Bible completely! Time and time again we talk to people who've been through years of college and university and have read hundreds and hundreds of books--huge tomes and volumes of textbooks, religious books, philosophical books and ALL kinds of books--yet have never even cracked open the Bible, the most fascinating Book in the World!--In which you can find almost ANYTHING: Drama, love, hate, peace, war, romance, poetry, prophecy, history, mystery, etc., etc.!

Just think about it: Words of wisdom from THOUSANDS of years ago, from the days before Moses! It's such an IMPORTANT Book and one of the OLDEST Books in the World, yet a lot of "educated" people don't even bother to read it! They waste time on all of their complicated and confused theories while neglecting the very Words of Life!

If you were going on a long journey and didn't already know the way, you would bring along a MAP, wouldn't you?--Well, you ARE on a long journey, and the One Who knows the way has instructed some of His men to draw a detailed map so you won't get lost and so you can make it safely to your final destination! To say you don't have time to read God's Map, the Bible, is like saying, "Well, I'm in such a HURRY to get there I don't have TIME to look at the MAP!"--But if you'll just take the Bible and simply read it, believe it and follow it, you will be on the right road and wind up at the right place!

And that is actually the GREATEST proof that the Bible really is the miraculous, supernatural Word of God Himself--it WORKS! So why not TRY it!--It's the greatest, most enduring, wisest, most truthful Book in the whole World that you can really TRUST! I'm sure that you will find it an absolutely inexhaustible source of wisdom and knowledge, out of which you will constantly find "treasures new and old"!--Beautiful! (Mt.13:52)

Of course the MOST wonderful thing about the Bible is that, through its Words, we can get to know its AUTHOR!--For the Bible is GOD'S GREAT LOVE LETTER to us! Its Life-giving Words make it the GREATEST Book in the World, with the only Author in the World that can guarantee life and love and happiness and Heaven forever through simply reading it and believing in its main Character, the One Who loved us so much that He gave His Own Life to save us--JESUS CHRIST, the Son of God!

So take the Bible and sincerely pray, "OPEN Thou mine eyes, that I may behold WONDEROUS things out of Thy Word!" (Ps.119:18)--But don't get bogged down in the "begats" and genealogies of Genesis, nor the Jewish History and ancient past of much of the Old Testament that is over and done with! Read the NEW TESTAMENT and the wonderful Words of JESUS in the GOSPELS--not as fairy tales of the PAST, but as GOD'S WORD for YOU TODAY--and see how inspiring, uplifting, feeding and encouraging the Truth of the Word of God can be! In the beautiful GOSPEL OF JOHN particularly, you will find the spiritual depths of the Love of God and His Salvation for you!

Have YOU received God's Love through JESUS? Have YOU tasted the wonderful, soulsatisfying waters of His wonderful Word? If not, receive Jesus into your heart personally by simply ASKING Him to come into your life, to forgive you of all your sins and give you His Love and peace and free gift of eternal life!--Then you can not only READ His Word with understanding, but you'll have the LOVE and the STRENGTH to OBEY it and to SHARE His Truth and Love with OTHERS who need them too!

I have read the both the Bible and the quran and I can boldly tell you that the quran is far more philosophical than the Bible. If I'm to pick between both of them, I'll pick the quran and I'm not a religious person. Just someone who's interested in the literature world.

If you do not have a strong mind and you read the quran without bias and preconception, you have a 70% chance of converting to Islam.

Most people who converted to Islam converted immediately after reading the quran.

I have read it 7 times over. First in Manchester then in Nigeria several times with no appeal to me.

Quran 8:12_13 '[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip."'

My friend, I am not moved by cheap blackmails. Study both portions in context. The context. The quoted was a parable. Do you even know what a parable is? Secondly, let us assume it isn't a parable but a true life scenario. The judgement was passed because those accused were guilty of murder. The judgement is found in all the legal systems today because it is in line with equity. But your devilish books says behead anyone who does not believe in allah. What kind of wickedness is that?

I just hate arguing with moslems because they are violent and dumb. No wonder you will hardly see a moslem making great scientific feat even though they keep claiming that their book has everything there is to life. Very asinine claim, similar to their religion of peace mantra. Google for the top contributors to science and technology, you will always see they are either christians, athiests and from other peaceful religion. Not moslens! Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton etc are proofs. Even in sports, world class footballers like Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, Ronaldhino, Beckam, Maradona, Pelle to name a few are christians who are making impact. This is not to say that some moslems like Mohammed Salah and Hazard are not, but 90% of those making impact are peaceful christains. You will even find out that these footballers or minute moslem scientists are making impact because they are in an environment of peaceful christians.

You need to sit down and ask yourself why Islam is violent and not making significant contribution to the advancement of the world.

Lol, who's blackmailing who? I can only see how your hatred for Muslims is eating you up like a wild fire.

LET ME CALM THE TIDE OF YOUR IGNORANCE.
Islam is a practical faith that permits self-defence in certain strict situations. When? Let the Quran explain.

First, the Prophet Muhammad and his companions patiently bore vehement persecution in Mecca for nearly 13 years. This included a three-year starvation boycott from which his wife Khadija later died. Muslims didn’t fight back.

Next, Muhammad sent some companions to seek refuge in Abyssinia under a Christian King, and Muslims still didn’t fight back. Third, when the Prophet’s companions even asked to fight back, Muhammad responded clearly, “I have not been given permission to fight.” And, finally, when the
persecution became unbearable, Muhammad and the Muslims simply left Mecca – still refusing to fight back.

Yet the extremists trying to kill Muslims in Mecca pursued the Muslims to kill them in Medina. And now – finally – the Quran addressed fighting for the first time, permitting Muslims to fight in self-defence. The permission given in Quran 22:40-41 to fight was only given to “those against whom war is waged.” And fighting wasn’t just to defend
Muslims from persecution – but to defend Christians, Jews, and people of all faiths. All subsequent verses addressing fighting are pre-conditioned on these clearly outlined rules of
self-defense. Otherwise, it’s cherry picking, something the Quran forbids as perverse.

Additionally, Quran 2:193-194 declares that Muslims may only fight active combatants. Meaning, even if during battle an enemy combatant asks for amnesty, you must grant it.
In Islam, there’s no such thing as “collateral damage,” mutilation, or torture.

You might now understand who the Quran refers to when it says “kill them where you find them”. The “them” are those terrorists who persecuted people for their faith, exiled them
from their homes and then pursued to kill innocent people in their new homes.

In other words, “them” is close to a modern day Isis. The Quran permits killing terrorists in self- defence because they have waged pre-emptive war against you, or against Christians, Jews, or people of any faith. Yet, even then, if terrorists desist, the Quran forbids aggression against
them. This teaching is not mere theory, it’s Islamic history.

Prophet Muhammad did something remarkable when he returned to Mecca after 20 years. Having suffered brutal persecution and murder of even his own children, he offered blanket forgiveness, with the one condition that the
Meccans accept universal freedom of conscience. He did not force Islam. He did not wage war. He did not imprison the city. He forgave. As non-Muslim historian Stanley Lane-Poole attests: “The day of Mohammad's greatest triumph over his enemies was also the day of his grandest victory over himself. He freely forgave the Koraysh all the years of sorrow and cruel scorn in which they had afflicted him and gave an amnesty to the whole population of Mecca.”

That is the love and compassion that Islam and the Quran teach. Any honest person can see that Isis represents Prophet Muhammad the way darkness represents light; the two are complete opposites.

Misconceptions about Islam creep in because people learn about the faith from headline news rather than from the Quran and the Prophet. The Jihad of education is the death blow to terrorism, and the lifeblood of universal human
rights. And I invite you to that true Jihad.

My friend! Stop trying to butter Islam up. You are only trying to defend Islam which is expected of a real fanatic. These stories are made up and sold by moslems who do not support terrorism but need to justify portions of the quran that do.

It is true that Islam advices its members, just as you have quoted, to forgive and prevent adversities but if you look at it critically, it is mentioned only when their numbers and military strength is judged to be relatively weak. Moslems preach forgiveness and peace when they are few in numbers but the momment they grow to a sizeable number, they begin to enforce sharia and violence eventually. That is why the quran tells you people to kill those who do not believe in the name of allah in quran 8. Islam makes good people bad. Islam makes bad people terrorists.

You speak of my hatred for Islam as though i am trying to hide or deny it. I truely hate Islam (not necessarily moslems) like wild fire because it is the root cause of global instability.

In their hearts is a disease, and Allah increaseth their disease. A painful doom is theirs because they lie. - 2:10

Brother, your ignorance seems irredeemable, I could sensed how hard you are trying to portray Islam as a violent religion but unfortunately for you it is not..as yours hatred toward Islam will continue to heat and eat you harder.

Allah says in the glorious Quran “Whoever kills a person [innocent person…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.” (Qur’an, 5:32), there is no other religious scripture that has a verse as concise and explicit as this. Only this verse is enough to debunk all the lies and slanders you framed towards Islam.

You talked about the Sharia (Islamic Jurisprudence), I challenge you to list only one Islamic law that is against humanity.

No one is saying that the quran does not have good portions. Even satan's books talk about peace to a measure.

If the quran says you shouldnt kill, then why are your people killing? You still are not getting the point. Our concern is not what your book says but what it propels people to do. Check any country with moslems, you will always find war. Why? Why always moslems? The problem with Islam is not what is written but rather, the unseen evil force sponsoring the letters and words in the religion and the quran itself. Why do moslems read about peace from the quran but do the opposite?

What annoys me most is that you all claim you're been victimized when clearly, you are the ones creating problems. You delude yourselves by saying islam is hated because it is the true religion but the true reason is because you arr violent and unpeaceful. It would have been different if you all are persecuted for righteousness, but that is not the case. No one wants to stay with a violent and murderous person. Islam aside, in your immediate evironment, do u like staying with people that cause trouble? Be reasonable for once.

Do this homework. List out all the 194 countries in the world in a table. Group then into weak population of moslems, intermediate population of moslems and large population of moslems and try to rank then by average amount of peace obtainable. If you are sincere enough, you will see the picture i am trying to paint. Islam the religion of peace my foot

It is only an unlearned and unintelligent person that can subscribe to your cheap gimmick. Over sixteen millions souls were lost during the first word war and it was not the Muslims who incited it, Hitler (a christian) killed six millions Jews no one blames the entire Christendom for his action. In contrary, when a Muslim or some groups of Muslims errs you blame all Muslims entirely.

In the second case, many issue of violence in the middles east are instigated by the western countries and they later shift the blames to the Muslims. A case in point is the anti-Muslim campaign in the American media following the Oklahoma bomb blast, where the press was quick to declare a ‘Middle Eastern conspiracy’ behind the attack. The culprit was later identified as a soldier from the American Armed Forces.

Different labels given to the same individual for the same action, i.e. ‘terrorist’ and ‘patriot’ Before India achieved independence from British rule, some freedom fighters of India who did not subscribe to non-violence were labeled as terrorists by the British government. The same individuals have been lauded by Indians for the same activities and hailed as ‘patriots’. Thus two different labels have been given to the same people for the same set of actions. One is calling him a terrorist while the other is calling him a patriot. Those who believed that Britain had a right
to rule over India called these people terrorists, while those who were of the view that Britain had no right to rule India called them patriots and freedom fighters. It is therefore important that before a person is judged, he is given a fair hearing. Both sides of the argument should be heard, the situation should be analyzed, and the reason and the intention of the person should be taken into account, and then the person can be judged accordingly

Ultimately as against your last statement, Islam is derived from the word ‘salaam’ which means peace. It is a religion of peace whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace throughout the world.

Oga, Hitler was not a christian even though he was born into a christian family because he openly rejected the tenets of christianity. He was clear and unequivocal about his stance. Goodle is your friend.

Secondly, let me accept that he was a christian to satisfy you and to prove a point. Did Hitler as a 'Christian' kill people in the name of Jesus or Yaweh? He did not! He did not base his terroristic activities on christianity unlike moslems that kill in the name of Allah. Anyone that kills is a terrorist whether an Athiest, Christian or Moslem.

Thirdly, let us assume he did kill in the name of Jesus or any christian figure. How many Hitlers have we had? Look at the frequency of terrorism from christianity and Islam.

You mentioned somwthing about the world wars and like i said, they did not do it because of any religious beliefs. It was not done in the name of Jesus, Allah, Budha etc but was purely political. The point of focus is what breeds terrorism. Terrorism in this world is from 3 major sources and i dare you to proof me wrong.

1. Fanatism
2. Politics and quest for power
3. Islam.

Now that we are in the error of civilisation, who are those causing the most trouble now?

Isis, Hamas, Hezbollah, Taliban, Al qaeda, Al Shabaab , BokoHaram, Fulani Herdsmen... to mention a few.

Non religious terrorists: FARC, IRA, Nexal, IPOB, NDA

Christian terrorist: I am not saying there could be no christian terrorists, but please name one current christian terrorist, or atleast one within the last 3 decades. In the event that you could mention one, how are they compared to bokoharam?

You talked about propaganda by the west. Ok, accepted. Let's talk about our immediate surrounding. I dare you to name one christian terrorist group in Nigeria. By christian terrorist, i mean terrorists that kill in the name of Jesus or any authority associated with christianity.

You can choose to defend Islam. It is expected of you. You keep saying all these are propaganda from the west as though we are blind and can't see for ourselves what is going on in the world. I have mixed with people from diverse religions and background and can say that Moslems tendency for violence is next to none. Granted - not everything said about moslems are true but you guys are making it difficult for one to distinguish the truth from rumours by proving the so called conspiracy true. Let BokoHaram and Isis stop killing people and people will not hate you the way they do now. We do not like defence, we like results.

Lastly, no body gives a damn about the meaning of Islam. Is it not a paradox that a religion that means peace is doing the exact opposite? You really do not know how to argue intelligently, i mean no insult. Christians, Jews and hindus don't make a fuss about being peaceful but yet they are. As a christian, i can't remember when the topic 'peace' was taught in my church yet we are peaceful. I hardly hear christians claiming or emphasising to people that they are peaceful. There are bad christians just like there are in other religious or ethnic groups but to see a christian kill for political or religios reasons en mass is almost not possible. See, when you have to emphasis to someone that you are 'something', then you are more than likely not that 'something'. Continue defending and defining Islam as peaceful as you like but know that people will judge you based on your actions and not by what you claim.

I know that your hatred for Islam would never allow you to reason logically, your parochial view on issues would never allow you to think critically when it comes to Islam being tainted with terrorism. Terrorism is used to support the politically correct mantra that terror groups such as the Isis, Bokoharam truly have nothing to do with Islam—otherwise they would not bomb mosques and kill fellow worshippers of Allah.

Am glad that any unbiased mind following this will learn that you are only showcasing a futile hatred and hypocrisy towards Islam. The more you hate Islam the more people embrace it, because its beautiful teachings can not be compromised by a mere hater

I may have missed this but this is so infuriating that I cannot go through all the comments. If you want to know how AFRICANS were conquered and indoctrinated to become consumers of other people culture, religions,
logic, goods and services, this is it

Mind you, these commentators that cannot think of a single African book consider themselves as highly educated and civilized.

I attended a lecture on the history of law and logic recently. I left feeling sorry for myself and Africans that have invested so much into cultures they know very little about their basis.

We are going to be in this mess for more generation if we do not shake out of this nightmare right now.

I have read the both the Bible and the quran and I can boldly tell you that the quran is far more philosophical than the Bible. If I'm to pick between both of them, I'll pick the quran and I'm not a religious person. Just someone who's interested in the literature world.
