Northern Nigeria has been at the centre of weather crisis in Nigeria for a long time. Perhaps this is because of the vast desertification, and unfavourable climatic conditions that not only takes away the fertility of many land areas, but also cause drought. It’s not uncommon to hear of heavy rainfall at some time of the year, and in another case, a whole community may have no means to access clean water. The residents of Kazura community in Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa State recently are one of those badly hit by this challenge, where nearly 4,000 people depend on just two boreholes... Yup states need to make investment in public water utilities. You can find these type of issues all over the country. Its crazy how our water infrastructure got worse over 50 years collectively.
