I am Igbo and I will say the truth: Nnamdi Azikiwe is one of the problems we have in Igbo land when it comes to national politics in Nigeria.

Azikiwe was a failure to Igbo people and that is why Igbos don't celebrate Azikiwe, but rather celebrate Ojukwu whom Yorubas think pushed Igbos to civil war.

Let me enlighten you all, Ojukwu saved Igbos from total annihilation from Nigeria by declaring to secede from Nigeria in 1966 prior to the northern pogrom against great Igbos living in the northern states.

Ojukwu restored our pride and if not for Britain, Biafra won Nigeria few months to the war, the civil war wouldn't have lasted up to 2 years if not for Britain, don't argue, ask your sincere elders or read Nigerian civil war history books written by foreign journalists or watch the war documentaries by foreign medias too.

So Azikiwe is a failure to Igbo tribe!

Igbo soldiers in the 1960s loved Awolowo more than Azikiwe.

Even though Yoruba media and history peddlers and Lagos Ibadan media liars won't let the younger Yoruba population to know the truth that what caused the first coup was massive corruption and tribal-religious leadership style of Tafawa Belewa (just like Buhari's bias leadership style) that pushed the young military chaps mostly from Southeastern Nigeria to stage a coup with the sole intention of removing Tafawa Belewa, silencing Akintola Williams and releasing Awolowo from Enugu jail and to make same Awolowo President whom the young Igbo soldiers believed was a better leader than Tafawa Belewa, Azikiwe and Akintola.

The same thing is happening now; majority of Igbos prefer Prof. Osinbajo to become Nigeria's President as they see Osinbajo as a better leader than tribalistic Buhari, and if this was in the 1960s, take it or leave it, Buhari would have been removed through military coup.

So Awolowo brought more development to his region than Azikiwe the failed nationalist!

In today's politics,

Buhari = Tafawa Belewa

Osinbajo = Awolowo

Rochas (hated by Igbos ) = Azikiwe

Tinubu = Akintola

Peter Obi (loved by Igbos) = Ojukwu

While I do not want to engage in tribal slur, you lied @the bolded statement.

It was on record that Azikwe betrayed his kinsmen during Biafra war, infact he abandoned his people.

Obafemi Awolowo all through his life fought for the Yoruba nation, infact he really never started by liking the north, Azikwe was the betrayer that sold out the southern Nigeria to the North.

Awolowo had to fight his kinsmen (Akintola) and told him the danger of associating with the north. You guys problem is that you don't know history or maybe you are distorting history on purpose.
