Possible Effect Of Governorship Elections On New Utme Examination Date by Parablesonmarble: 12:26pm On Mar 11, 2019
As well known, Jamb already fixed 23 March for the mock exams but no date has been released for the main exam.
The fall-outs from the governorship elections held on Saturday 9, March shows that elections in 4 states namely; Adamawa, Bauchi, Plateau and Sokoto have already been declared inconclusive. Rivers State electoral processes has been suspended indefinitely, There are problems with collations and result announcement in Imo and Abia states. All these added to pockets of inconclusive elections in parts of some states like the FCT makes it difficult for INEC to categorically state that elections are over and Nigerians can resume their normal lives. There will definitely be make-up elections and re-runs around the country on dates yet-to-be determined by INEC but very soon.
WAEC already published her own exam time table, starting on April 1 and running until mid- May.
With these factors in consideration, it seem UTME candidates will have to wait until late may to write the UTME exams as there is no other open window on the calendar until then. This may not necessarily be bad for Jambites as they may now have more time to prepare, less time between UTME and Post-UTME exams, which keeps them in good shape to keep the momentum going and giving a good account of themselves in Post UTME exams.
This submission is a personal opinion and has no official input in any way. Please don't make preparation based on this forecast. Like a boy scout, its better to always be prepared.
