Good day nairalanders, I have been caught in the web of choosing a career path between transportation geography and industrial geography for masters degree.

I studied Geography and Regional Planning as my first degree course.

What are the prospects in each, career challenges, professionalism in the present day Nigeria and the World at large.

I’ll prefer Transportation Geography though.

id try to give my view on this,As a geographer myself, currently studying at unn. industrial geography for naija doesnt look quite enriching or satisfying to me, cos it takes into consideraton a not so changing face of our economy, it is too static a cliche. for instance, as an industrial geographer, u get to delve into d location of industries, take a look at what influences their location,whether market oriented, raw material oriented. the raw materials used as well as but not limited to how these products are distributed, that last part which enables production to be complete/ is part what transportation geography entails.

i prefer transpo geo because it investigates the movement and connections between people, goods and information. transportation is a much wider and more in demand. good luck
