Social Media started out as a good rave of connecting people and selling ones thoughts and idea to the world.
However, in recent times it does appear it has become a curse more than a blessing.

Social media has had more negative impact in our women than men. It has left many of our women damaged. Just take a look around YouTube,Facebook, Instagram, twitter.... I am forced to think how did we get here?

A friend was telling me how his life has been better off after he deleted his social media accounts. All he has now is WhatsApp.

Even in my private life, I never date a lady heavy on social media, always online, snapping selfies (u know those ones that ensure u have a good look of her assets)

Has social media been a blessing to you or a curse? How much impact will this have on our future daughters.

MOD: Please make this front page, this is worth talking about than all those topic woman goes unclad in market, bobirisky stars on red carpet.

I don’t understand.
It has damaged people, how exactly?

It has left many of our women damaged. Just take a look around
This is very vague and says nothing.
I clicked the thread to learn more not leave me with an open ended non-explanation.

This is addiction.
One can argue the same for anything.
Does it mean if she reads books all day you won’t complain just the same?

Is social media damaging us? No. It has damaged us completely. I was just wondering yesterday if there are any ladies out there who do not bare their breasts or buttocks on Instagram.

Better ask that girl before you marry her if she has any nude pics or sex video floating somewhere on the internet or on someone's phone.

God help bachelors.

Getting a great girl to marry has gotten even very slim with social media.

We don't even come close to how a lot of westerners live their lives on SM. The average Nigerian doesn't even have enough data to keep streaming, uploading and downloading videos. We ain't even close.

Nigerians own is just to go to Instagram, NL, Twitter and insult people, beg, etc.

And insult and begging are not ways of abusing SM?

These videos u ar talking about, OK, take for instance; Westerners upload porn to porn sites, n u av to visit that site before u cud watch porn...u definitely know wat u are looking for before going to that site ryt?

If Nigerians are allowed, som may upload their sex event here on Nairaland (ask d mods wot dey are going through if u think it's not tru)...tell me, who's abusing SM?

Overther, they know wot SM is meant for n dey use it appropriately. Here, it is not so.

Wen u ar talking abt streaming, uploading n downloading of immoral acts amg westerners...I think u sud refer to the abuse of internet as a whole n not "Social Media"

Not just immortal acts. They stream even their everyday lives and actions.

But it's ok. No need to go back and forth. My point is that Nigerians should not always be fingered as the bad or inappropriate ones. It's not peculiar to Nigerians

Ah ah, why was my other reply deleted?
These Nairaland moderators, sef.

My question is, why won’t he contribute to the discussion if he isn’t in an unfortunate situation?
He was the one who started the thread after all.
