I have always praise my phone beating the download speed of a cafe close to my place. When i tried to download 15MB file in that cafe, i waited for almost 58min. But i used my phone to do so. I completed my downloads in 20mins on Edge. I have never experience 3G network in our area. I heard it is much more faster than edge. I would like to know your download speed on Edge and 3G using your phone. My speed on edge is 27kb/sec.

downloaded a 14mb phone software update in about 3min using mtn 3.5 g. Got a top speed of about 200kbps

What! I don't mean modem o. I mean phone. 200kb/sec on phone? What type of phone. I was expecting 30kb/sec to be the max on phone.

yes on phone, not modem, i use a nokia 5230 with mtn. made the download around 3pm. Sory i dont hav the picture. But it isnt that strange, is it? Should even be higher

Highest i got on Edge is 30kb/s with etisalat but on 3G with glo have got 285kb/s

I have experienced up to 800 kbps on MTN, though it does not happen all the time. At night MTN seems slower. A 15MB file takes less than 5 minutes on the average.

I dont know why all these GSM company boast of 3G and some are going for 4G whereas the 3G did not covers Lagos. With 3.5G like I am having at ikorodu it is super-fast. i can stream audio and video without hassle

I used to get download speed of 200-250kb/s with 3G both day and night but since 2months or so ago I don't know what went wrong as I can't even download in day time except in the midnight. By then it gets to 150kb/s. I use a Blackberry bold2. Maybe the issue is from mtn. I plan on switching my BIS to airtel soon, heard its better.
