Lionel Messi has arrived back in Spain after pulling out of the Argentina Squad due to injury.

MySportDab reports Messi made his return to the national team after months of exile but could not stop a 3-1 loss against Venezuela.

Salomon Rondon's strike in the sixth minute got things off to a bad start, before Jhon Murillo doubled the lead and Josef Martinez scored a third.

Lautaro Martinez pulled a goal back for Argentina but it wasn't enough, though Messi was able to get through the full-match despite his injury concern.

Thankfully for the five-times Ballon d'Or winner, the trip back to Barcelona was only a short one, given Argentina's clash had been held in Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

However, a groin injury meant the 31-year-old had to return to Barcelona and could now miss the Champions League quarter-final against Manchester United.

Argentina overall top scorers isn't shinning bar, where are the defenders, if he want to shine,what else will he emulate in his opposition if other don't do their own job. He is the one to do the goal keeping and defending after assist and goal, even the Ronaldo who claimed to have won Europe league didn't feature in final but others do the job.

yes. The Portugese team has a better keeper, a far better defense and a better midfield. Argentina only has better attackers.

I hope you know that Portugal is currently leading their group (that includes Italy and Poland) in the UEFA Nations League. Ronaldo didn't play for them at all. I suspect some of you don't actually watch these games.

Your attackers are useless if they don't get the ball, and even if they score it wouldn't matter if the defense keeps conceding more goals than the attack can score. That's why the Portugese team is better, when Ronaldo drops disasterclasses like the last one, it might not matter because their defense wouldn't concede unnecessary goals.

MESSI has not won anything in the senior national team yet. He is the top scorer of all time and his ratings almost always vindicate him at the end. He's a fantastic player no doubt but we can see the range of support the Argentina squad gives compared to the Barcelona squad. Football is a team sport and no matter how many assists you give they'll be nothing if someone does not score them. No matter how many goals you score they'll be nothing if the defense concedes and no matter how many individual world class players a country has It'll all be for nothing if they don't play as a team. One player cant do everything ask ronaldo against Uruguay in world cup.

as if Portugal national has enter same final world up messi enter and you are talking of the Europa cup they won without winning a single match until final by drawing and qualify by 3rd best from group stages, an abuse or something that won't occur sane game. A team without a single 90 minutes win get to final , no wonder they couldn't do well than Argentina in all world up because draw,draw ,draw till final won't save them
