Im not holding brief for Yakubu but you just cannot compare both umpires. Apart from his annoying "inconclusive" elections leading to reruns ( which by the way is favoring the opposition in most cases) you really cant accuse Yakubu of systematic rigging like the case of IWU.

So all the lives wey don loss for this inconclusive regime of Manhood no mean anything to you?

Maurice iwu also started from ground zero. There was no precedence.
He basically had to make the rules under an obsssnjo our first modern democratic president, because there was no robust electoral precedence.

Buhari saw to that when he overthrew shagari and crippled our democracy.

Yakubu had no reason to be incompetent which he was. Inec had come a long way since 1999.

Iwu was not as lucky. He was starting afresh.

Firstly, I sympathise with you on your obsession with Buhari. You seem to be incapable of making a single sentence without mentioning the word 'Buhari' even in the most unrelated topics.

Anyway, your point on Maurice Iwu being handicapped by military rule or whatever it was is inconsequential here. This thread is more about the performance of INEC under Maurice vs INECs performance under Mahmood; the thread isnt about making excuses and passing blames.

The core of this matter is that Inec under Iwu was as useless as the 'P' in the word Psychology. Under Iwu, accreditation would still be ongoing, but results would be announced in the capital. Under Iwu, you could have 2million registered voters and years later, an election would be held and exactly 2million votes would be counted. These shiit dont happen anymore. The biggest problem we have these days is the violence, with politicians sponsoring thugs to go disrupt elections. It makes absolutely no sense to pin the blame of that on an INEC chairman (both Iwu and Mahmood are exonerated from that).

Some person's here have mentioned inconclusive elections; the inconclusive clause was not added to the INEC laws by Mahmood. If inconclusive and supplementary elections are to be avoided, the winner should have to win his opponent with a wide gap.

By all logical and sensible indices, its laughable for anyone to try and compare INEC under Maurice to the evolved INEC of today.

Yakubu is the worst. Maurice Iwu presided when our democracy was young with little electoral law. INEC budget was also very low. He did his bit though performed woefully. As for Yakubu, with a budget running into hundreds of billions and he can only deliver this sham, he deserve the worst INEC chairman.
