One reason why crime is getting worse is due to the worsening unemployment rate

Crime rose and spiralled out of control from 1982 when the then recession hit hard. We were robbed in 1983.

To understand how low crime rate was then, the activities of an armed robber called Anini made frontpage news for months. If it happened now, it may only be carried by one newspaper and it will be on the 4th or 5th page.

The nation was held spellbound when there was a hired killing in the mid or late 1980's. It was virtually unheard of back then

Now, with the economy in squalid condition, you now have Yahoo plus. Every desperate youth now wants to become a pant billionaire. It's really sad.

he was a very quiet man who dosent keep out late.. If for any reason he is gonna be late.. He always tells his wife.. Even the day he got Missing..he informed his wife that he would be coming late.. And he wants to make just one last trip... Which ended his life.. And the wife has been in pain since last year when it happened.. I think last year Sept or Oct.. What a loss... Sad loss

I'm sorry to say this but Rivers State is not a safe place to live. The state government is so poorly run that it has given rise to all types of vices - kidnapping, cultism, political thuggery, armed robbery among others. It is really a shame because it used to be a beautiful and peaceful state.

How can these people bury a man alive just because they want to steal his car? They could have just taken the car and left the man alone. There is no sense of humanity in these people.

They’re probably fatherless bastards brought up in a dysfunctional setting, or polluted muppets who grew up with nefarious father figures. Whatever the case may be, mere apprehension of lunatics like these solves nothing by itself, as it won’t prevent future occurrences of the very same evil.

Until the criminal-justice system restructures itself and reserves resources for dealing with the socio-economic conditions that give rise to such devils with the cooperation of the State, nothing will change.
