Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah kick starts his plans for the recovery of Igbo economy on a sound note.

As Igbo traders in Lagos secure NASS leadership support as Ifeanyi Ubah's delegation meets Lawan

Outgoing Eight Senate Majority Leader and 2019 Yobe North Senator-Elect Ahmed Lawan on Monday in Lagos, assured Igbo traders that if given the mandate to lead the ninth Senate, his administration will always collaborate with relevant ministries and agencies of government to provide lasting conducive atmosphere for traders. Senator Lawan who is a leading contestant for the position of Nigeria's number three citizen made this known when he received a delegation of Igbo market leaders led by Anambra South Senator-Elect Ifeanyi Ubah and the President of Balogun Business Association (BBA), Tony Obi in Lagos.

Addressing the delegation and the press, the current Senate Leader further assured ndị Igbo that if elected the President of the ninth Senate and Chairman of the ninth national assembly, his administration will continue to find lasting solutions to issues bothering on concession of Trade Fair Complex. He further recounted the previous roles the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Privatisation which he chaired played in ensuring peace and tranquility in the market especially the committee's helpful recommendations to both parties when the delegation of market leaders was invited by the Senate in 2011. He went further to assure them that he will consolidate his efforts in promoting their welfare and ensuring safety of their businesses in Lagos.

Recall that during the just concluded Lagos State gubernatorial election, Dr. Ubah campaigned passionately for the present Governor-Elect of the state Barrister Sanwo-olu in major markets of the economic city and while campaigning for him, he urged ndị Igbo to support and vote for Sanwo-olu because he will always protect the interests of Igbos in the state.
