Monday 25th 2019, another history was made as the ongoing war against quackery in the Nursing profession escalated with renewed intensity.

Can you recall Arib Hospital in Okitipupa, Ondo State?

News about the illegal quackery activities going on in the hospital went viral after pictures of graduating quacks of the hospital were uploaded on social media.

Following irrefutable evidences about the unfortunate incidence, the Ondo State Nursing & Midwifery Committee accompanied by the Directorate of Hospital Services, Ondo State Ministry of Health, acted on the verified information, took decisive steps leaving no stone unturned in pursuing the case to a logical conclusion.

Nurses on Air, through its media correspondents and anti-quackery media team, can authoritatively report that the hospital has been officially closed down by the Ondo State regulatory bodies.

Apart from this commendable action, 3 other Hospitals in Okitipupa (names withheld), which have become notorious for training quacks, were also visited today and served warning letters.

This action will no doubt bring huge relief to thousands of Nigerian Nurses who have consistently clamoured for a more aggressive clamp down on quackery and its perpetrators.

The swift response by the regulatory bodies to the Arib incidence, while highly commendable, also portends a good omen for Nigerian Nursing.

This is a testimony that if the war against quackery is intellectually and decisively fought, not with mere lamentations but individual and collective ACTION, could yield overwhelming results beyond expectation.

Rather than needlessly or unnecessarily casting aspersions on Nursing leaders, isn't time for all nurses to begin to ask the very pertinent question: How can I positively spur my Nursing leaders towards action that will transform the profession for good?

In the meantime, the next question on the lips of many nurses as they wake up to this exciting news is:

Who is next for CLAMPDOWN?

- Nurses On Air.

Hahahahah I knew it. There was always something fishy about that place. I just couldn't place why my spirit dislikes that place.

The place is close to Gatsa new fuel station, along Apata street. Just before Akisulore street.

80% of nurses in private hospitals across the country are quacks.

Imagine a nursing student soliciting for fund to do their "freedom" as if they were under apprenticeship.
