The Adamawa election will eventually be cancelled. The party in court was unlawfully excluded and that’s a very solid ground for cancellation. If the high court fails to cancel the entire election by Friday, the election petition tribunal will cancel it. I hope the high court cancels it before Friday so that we don’t waste time and resources progressing in error.

Excellent! I wonder where that party claiming exclusion sprang up from knowing very well it stood absolutely no chance. Where and when did the candidates campaign? Some nasty character just wanted to use this to upturn the peaceful Adamawa elections then re-enact the Kano and Osun template. Nonsense!

You want to deny him his constitutional right?

Shebi you won this election?

You should have no problem wining the fresh one...

For starters the party name is on the ballot, it's just the party logo. There was a 31 days window by Inec why didn't they come forward. They should just make money from it and forget it

The party logo is representative of the party...

Why did INEC forget to do their job?

I am well aware that the consequence of exclusion is outright cancellation. However, the basis or reason for exclusion will also be considered. If it is shown for instance that the party or its candidate did not fulfill necessary conditions, its case will hold no water. We'll see how it goes.

yes i heard but dont know how true that the MRDD has no deputy governorship candidate. that is constitutional breach by them and therefore their prayers will not be granted by the court

This is the INEC published list of gubernatorial candidates for all states. See if MRDD is there for Adamawa state. INEC will not put logo on ballot paper just because it is registered a political party when it did not conduct primaries and submit names of candidates as stipulated by the INEC regulations and the law. There will be no cancellation of elections, this is just the final gasps of a drowning man clutching unto straws...
There is more to just claiming that one's logo was omitted.

The supplementary is on Thursday. Let the mushroom party go to the tribunal to prove its case.

Bottom line Fintiri will be sworn in on May 29th.

The last time I check there is no political party bearing that name on inec website.

Even if the conditions precedent warrant cancellation, that will be long after May 29th when Fintiri would have been sworn-in

Deeper research on inec website shows that MRDD did not present any governorship candidates in Adamawa

Despite the affront from the centre, during the rigged presidential elections and attempt at same during the gubernatorial, PDP has been hugely successful in these national elections.

Senatordave1, this is also another issue. If INEC and other concerned parties are able to show that there was sufficient time within which parties/candidates were to inspect sample ballot materials before commencement of elections and the MRPD did not take advantage of the time to formally point out errors/anomalies to the INEC, they will be deemed to have slept on their rights and as you know, equity will not aid the indolent. All in all, we'll see how it goes.

Are you a lawyer?
You talk quite reasonably..
And you seem to be politically vibrant.
