Buhari Is Yet To Sign N30,000 Minimum Wage Bill —presidency by unclesuruoffi: 3:25am On Apr 04, 2019 |
Nigeria's Presidency has revealed that contrary to reports, President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to sign the N30,000 minimum wage bill. This disclosure is coming after the Senate concurred the earlier decision of the House of Representatives, which passed the bill before the National Assembly shut down its operations to enable lawmakers to participate in the 2019 general elections, beginning from February 16. Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang who spoke on behalf of the Presidency disclosed that Buhari is yet to sign the N30,000 minimum wage bill and according to him, signing of bills was not done in secrecy. Though he confirmed that the bill which captured N30,000 as the new national minimum wage had been transmitted to Buhari by the National Assembly, he however stated that the President is yet to sign the bill on the grounds that there were operational procedures to be followed. He told Punch “The bill has been transmitted to Mr President; that I can confirm. Right now, the bill is undergoing standard presidential, operational procedures in respect of bills. We are within time. At the appropriate time, Mr President will take a decision and make it public. Therefore, the report that Mr President has already signed the bill is not correct.” https://unclesuru.com/2019/04/04/buhari-is-yet-to-sign-n30000-minimum-wage-bill-presidency/ 2 Likes

Why is the president still foot-dragging on this?
Delay defeat equity.
The president should just do the needful on time. 4 Likes 1 Share |

What other procedure? Probably inviting the press,NA,navy, air force and some activist to the eagle square with the next level theme playing at the background. While the likes of tinubu, oshe, osiba etc takes the front seat and a golden pen(imported from north Korea) will now be lunched by another committee (presidential budget pen comittee) which will take another 1 hour. Maybe just maybe oshebaba will take centre stage to wax lyrical about how he single handedly defeated Artiku in the last election and how 30k is the highest and the best achievement of this administration Nigeria my country!!! Abeg make I go prepare before Hold up go catch me 38 Likes 5 Shares |

If Buhari sign the bill without attaching few clauses then it will be wonder of the 21st century. He is waiting for May 29 so that when labour demand for its implementation; the will say it is new regime. 6 Likes 1 Share |
