President Muhammadu Buhari left Abuja on Thursday on a visit to Amman to participate in the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa holding at the Dead Sea, Jordan.

The visit was an invitation by King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, according to a statement released by Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in Abuja.



“President Buhari will deliver an address at the opening of the plenary alongside King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, and join world economic leaders in an informal gathering at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre.

“The Nigerian leader will also hold bilateral meetings with some world leaders on the sidelines of the Forum,” the Presidency said.

It added that on Sunday, Buhari would depart Amman and travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he would participate in the ninth edition of the Annual Investment Meeting between April 8 and 10, 2019.

Governors Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa State); Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo State); and Yahaya Bello (Kogi State) will accompany Buhari on the trip.
