OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT
PRESS RELEASE

VP OSINBAJO ATTENDS 25TH NATIONAL COMMEMORATION OF RWANDAN GENOCIDE IN KIGALI

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has departed Nigeria to join other world leaders and top dignitaries to participate as a Special Guest in the ceremonies marking 25th National Commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi holding today in Kigali, Rwanda.

Some of the activities lined up for the event include the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the Wreaths laying ceremony and Lighting of the Flame by the President of the Republic of Rwanda and Special Guests.

April 7, 1994, marked the beginning of the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda perpetrated by the Hutu extremist-led government.

In 2003, the United Nations General Assembly officially proclaimed 7 April the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

The Vice President is expected back into the country later today.

Shame on him. People are killed everyday at home from the desserts of Zamfara through the forest of Sambisa down to the arid lands of Benue and Kaduna yet the government does nothing about it.

Shame on the NextLevellers who voted a murderous regime. Now you wail and cry for Zamfara. You deserve an award for hypocrisy.

Richdad

My point exactly
I read this and heard the President’s speech in Jordan to realize that they may not even know what’s happening in the country or they know and look the other way

Osibobo, a cool headed and intelligent man, our president come 2023.

Those threatening SW with inconsequential 5% votes, should stop blabbing and keep thier votes for their northern masters as they plan, since u av all decided to serve the north forever. Without ur votes APC won in 2015, 2019 and so shall it be in 2023.

Click like for Osinbajo, shares for Fashola, for presidency.

let's go.

APC won in 2015 and 2019 not because of ur south west votes as u can see they lost more this time with Oyo state gone to PDP and osun will be gone as soon as court cases are cleared

APC won cos of the middle belt who controls the bulk votes they give
So yes bring ur osinbajo or tinubu come 2023 if they are alive
We will see who is better
A tribe DAT gives half votes which is the south west
Or a tribe that give block votes which is south south and south east

What percentage is the south west
Must be 2%
Cos the last election APC won Lagos with 500k votes
Stop deluding yourself
U dont have the vote to cos any meaningful change
Its just the 2/3 majority clause that makes the north romance with u
If its by vote counting

Do Nigeria learn some things from what happened in other countries?if they do now is the time 4 osinbanjo and his co-travelas to look inward and see how a United Nigeria can be built so that posterity will judge him well.

To build a United Nigeria, everyone need to be on board. It is beyond Osinbajo and Buhari.

do u know that Yorubas still give more votes to PDP in this past election than ur inconsequential 5% votes, despite having obi on the ticket, the point is ur region is too inconsequential in Nigeria for any other region to allign with.

Seun and his moderators should remove any "afonja", "Igbo" or "IPod" posts from nairaland.

You people should learn from history and stop fanning the embers of war in Nigeria.

We can disagree on our political choices without hating! After all, all the political parties have members from all the tribes and religions in the country. So, why hate a tribe because of politics

Thanks for saying the truth. The whole world is aware that Biafra state is inconsequential in Nigeria, let your called 5%ter to control our politics, economy and our futures.

Let the 5 % be independent of themselves, since you are inconsequential.

Ur tribe voted for ribadu in the other election
Why didn't ur south west make him President since ur vote is so huge.

INDEED NIGERIANS ARE CURSED FOR THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE STARTED INVADING RWANDA. EVERYWHERE YOU GO, OUR IGBO BROTHERS ARE THERE DOING GOD KNOWS WHAT. WHAT BAFFLES ME IS THAT THIS SAME NIGERIANS DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THE FACTS THAT THIS SAME RWANDA PEOPLE DON'T EVEN LIKE THEMSELVES AND DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO LIVE IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY WITH THEMSELVES THAT THEY DID THE MOST GRUESOME MURDEROUS GENOCIDE IN THE HISTORY OF AFRICA TILL DATE. ON MY VISIT TO KIGALI A WHILE BACK, I INTERACTED WITH SOME ROWANDAN LOCALS AND THEY WERE BITTERLY COMPLAINING HOW FOREINERS ESPECIALLY NIGERIANS ARE INVADING THEIR COUNTRY THAT THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO REBUILD. THEY SAID THAT PLANS ARE ALREADY BEING PUT TOGETHER BY THE VARIOUS ETHNIC GROUPS TO CARRY OUT MASSIVE GENOCIDE ON NIGERIANS LIVING IN THEIR REGIONS.

I KNOW NIGERIANS SUFFER FROM PAST EVENTS MEMORY LOSS BUT WHO CAN EVER FORGET THE IMAGES OF THE HORRIBLE GENOCIDE OF RWANDA FROM THE EARLY 90'S THAT WERE BRODCASTED ON TELEVISION?

U dont know what u are saying..Planning genocide on Nigerians living in Rwanda! U must be disillusioned..Am sure u have never been to that country. They remain most grateful to Nigerian government for being with them even till now. Rwanda has benefitted immensely from our technical Aid Corps volunteers and is still benefitting from Nigeria..
