There are two sides to that?first, If they failed the course that's part of life's challenges and they will surely comeback stronger. They will surely bcome lawyers too because surely Delay is not denial.

second is that some might have been aware that they won't graduate on time so they would just cling to jurisprudence exam. Hope you get what am driving at.

I did that, when I was during my ND, Glory be to God, I was the overall best for my department.

Writing down goals can be helpful.

In my year 1, I took a copy of the departmental handbook showing all courses I was to offer from year 1 to 4, targeted what I needed to score in each of them in order to arrive at the desired CGPA I wanted to graduate with.

To God be the glory, I surpassed the target.

And of course, Suraj made a first class at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

I think he's just being realistic about setting goals. Some people create a long list of goals but lack the motivations to achieve them. He's not saying that setting goals and writing them down is ineffective, he's saying that it's just not enough. Written goals are meant to be followed bit by bit with baby steps, until they're achieved.

Waiting for pessimists to come and derail this thread and start telling us how they'll employ him in their company when they drop out and become someone like tony elumelu. They will soon be here....wait
