The Kaduna State government has lifted the dusk to dawn curfew in Maraban Rido and Kujama communities of Chikun local government area with immediate effect.

Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan, said that residents of these communities are free to go about their lawful business at all hours of the day.

The statement also disclosed that the 6pm to 6am curfew is still in force in the entire Kajuru local government area. “The security agencies will continue to enforce the curfew in Kajuru LGA until further notice. Government appeals to all communities to continue to do their utmost to preserve peace and harmony,” he said.

20 Feared Dead in Fresh Suspected Bandit Attack in Kaduna
According to reports by the Nation, at least twenty people have been killed by suspected Fulani Herdsmen in Ungwan Aku Village, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was reported that those who attacked the community appeared in military uniform around 7pm on Monday. The arned men allegedly wielded machetes and AK-47, and shot sporadically.

An eye-witness, who spoke to the Nation, said “As they shot sporadically, some of us escaped to the bush. The attackers were in military uniforms and bullet proof vest.”
