Survey/Geospatial Manager

LORDSFIELD LIMITED is a full-service Surveying firm with a strong commitment to service quality and client satisfaction. We are known for complex, high-profile surveying projects, is seeking a Survey / Geospatial Services Project Manager. You will handle a variety of surveying duties, including project management, supervision and training of the survey staff, proposals preparation, strong liaison with business development manager, and other ancillary tasks, to support the growth of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. You will Supervise and/or coordinate work efforts of the survey technical department and make hiring recommendations. Project management responsibilities include client contact, data management, boundary determinations, preparing legal descriptions, construction layout calculations and file preparation. Work includes all facets of land and engineering surveys, ALTA, site and roadway design surveys, route surveys, construction surveys, supervision and production of surveying projects, drawing and other related work products and services.
2. Oversees the surveying functions of the business to meet client needs by managing a team performing skilled, technical work in the surveying, mapping and drafting of projects. Much of the work involves the coordination and gathering of data from outside agencies and partners, as well as providing pertinent information to contractors and developers.
3. Review, organize and plan the Survey schedule with other managers to ensure surveys and all projects are completed on-time. Coordinate newly scheduled surveys into existing schedule. Assign field projects based on best skills available and who is available.
4. Provide project oversight of medium-to-large integrated geospatial projects.
5. Facilitate, manage and execute project activities from large or complex GIS tasks that may include enterprise systems integration, data maintenance and migration, and geospatial analysis projects.
6. Provide technical oversight and develop standards for business line activities integrating with the enterprise GIS.
7. Develop, maintain and report on project plans and schedules.
8. Mentor technical staff and foster a good working environment through knowledgeable, effective, hands-on technical and management oversight and support
9. Verify and ensure departmental employees are appropriately trained to operate survey equipments and execute projects.
10. Verify and ensure that technical staff maintains proper documentation necessary for change orders, field notebooks, time sheets, project reports, vehicle operation and maintenance reports.
11. Oversee and monitor survey equipments to ensure that it is properly maintained, calibrated and fully accounted for on a regular schedule.
12. Resolve problems with government officials, inspectors, customer’s representative and work crew on job sites or delegate as needed. Review completed work to assure that survey group complies with all applicable Professional, Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
• Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g. Microsoft Project)
• Demonstrated understanding of geospatial technologies
• Ability to plan, organize and manage project schedules, tasks, and deliverables
• A passion for working with teammates and customers to solve problems

• Outstanding written and oral communication skills

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in any field of Geomatics, Engineering, or another related field with 7+ years in Geospatial Fields (Surveying, Lidar, Remote Sensing, GIS activities) or Higher Diploma in Geospatial Engineering field with at least 7+ years experience in Geomatics with IT skills.
• This position requires an extensive experience in three or more of the following: boundary, topographic and construction surveys, design surveys, subdivision plats, ALTA/ACSM surveys, water rights surveys, horizontal and vertical control networks for aerial and GPS surveys.
• Vast Experience in handling and processing terrestrial and airborne lidar survey.
• Must be proficient in the use of computers and CAD, Trimble Software, GIS Softwares, GPS Total Station, Robotics, AutoCAD, Land Development Desktop.
• Must be a current, licensed Professional in field of operation in Nigeria or within six months of Certification.
• Experience managing staff effectively.
• Formal project management training and/or certification (e.g. PMP).
• Candidate must be matured not be LESS than 35 years of age .
