A mechanic identified as Abdulrahim Mustapha has been sent to prison for raping a 9-years old girl.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, an Upper Area Court III, sitting in Kasuwan Nama in Jos, passed the sentence to the 21-years old man.

The Judge, Yahaya Mohammed, who sentenced Mustapha without an option to pay fine, said that it would serve a deterrence to others who would want to indulge in such crime.

The Prosecution Counsel, Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported on April 5 at the Laranto Police Station by one Yusuf Dada of Rikkos Village Jos, who is the complainant.

Gokwat said that Mustapha tricked the 9-year-old girl into buying pure water for him and dragged her into an uncompleted building and raped her.
