Fr. Mbaka cannot 'donate' to the Catholic church.
He belongs to the Catholic church.
He is a church property

The donation is a statutory contribution from every parishes in the dioceses to the center for the effective running of the dioceses. He just upped His donation because He believes His parish has more, and to whom more is given, more is expected.

The Bishop of every diocese has project and needs money to run them, like in the state where I reside children from rural area are picked, sponsor in school accommodated and also their feeding are taking care of, mind you I reside in the core north .. just yesterday I met some going back to their villages, schools are on holidays. Mbaka did not donate any money, it’s his parish donation to this year’s cathedraticum. Every parish in the diocese also came with their parish priest and parishioners and of course, with their own donations. Every catholic dioceses in Nigeria did the same thing, even Abuja diocese also did their own last week. Cathedraticum is the day all parishes give their Diocesan bishop gift, food items which are shared to prisons, orphanage, seminary schools and money for the running of the Diocese.

Each priest leads his parish and present whatever his parish contributed to the Bishop.

don't be silly. it's the duty of the government to fix roads and not the citizens. in some areas, fixing a road will get you in trouble. happened to one popular man in abia state who fixed the road leading to his company.
Church donations go into running things in the church and other humanitarian activities.
I had a close friend of mine who was sponsored by his parish when his father died.
