Spiral treetop walkway opens in Denmark

An amazing 45-meter-high wooden observation tower in a forest in Denmarkhas recently opened to the public. A 650-meter-long spiral path inside the tower allows visitors to get a 360-degree view of the preserved forest in Camp Adventure Climbing Park, the largest adventure park in the country.The iconic tower, made from materials from the forest itself to better fit in with the woodland, is the first of its kind in Scandinavia. “It's kind of a vertical forest path that takes you from the forest bed, through the tree trunks and up where the wind is blowing in your hair, and you feel vertigo, and you can see all over the countryside," said architect Tue Hesselberg Foged.

The centerpiece of the construction is set to be a winding observation tower, topping out at about 150 feet (45 metres). The hourglass-like construction should rise in a luscious preserved forest an hour south of Copenhagen, in Glisselfeld Kloster, Haslev. It consists of a 2000 ft. (600m) internal ramp, which will take visitors from the forest floor, through the treetops culminating with a 360° view of the hilly landscape, characteristic for the region.
