Baba ignore all of them on the thread. As e dey pain them, e dey sweet us. They can jump on anything against buhari no matter how ridiculous it sounds but are pained when given back a pinch of several kind of accusations they ve made against others...

What's even funny is that this Atiku's debacle is not a matter of mere allegation.

The consequences are dire and his surviving the case looks bleak.

Many have made it sport to make ludicrous accusations against Buhari and he's withstood all.

Yet this matter isn't ridiculous.

Atiku is really in a snare.

From Obi's books to the rederendum, to the constitution, his case doesn't look good.

This would be a lesson for all Nigerians, especially those who make it a habit of making spurious claims.

Logic and the rule of law always trumps.

A simple historical research reveals that Atiku was born in Jada Town of Adamawa. Adamawa was old Gongola State, which was created on 3rd February 1976 from Adamawa and Sardauna Provinces, together with the Wukari Division of the then Benue-Plateau State. Gongola was on 27th August 1991, divided into two states - Adamawa & Taraba.

Northern Cameroons became the Sardauna Province of Northern Nigeria on 31 May 1961, while Southern Cameroons became West Cameroon, a constituent state of the Federal Republic of Cameroon, on 1st October 1961.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON, was born 25th November 1946 in Jada Village (part of Adamawa), NOT part of the Sardauna Provinces which could have made him a non-Nigerian at birth!

To recap; the present Adamawa State used to be Gongola State. Gongola State was created out of: (1) Adamawa; (2) Sardauna Provinces from the old Northern Cameroon; and (3) Wukari Division of the then Benue-Plateau State. Jada, where Atiku was born in 1946 was NEVER part of Northern Cameroon, as it was located in Adamawa province and not any part of Sardauna Province. If Atiku had been born in any part of the Sardauna Provinces, then he would not have been born a Nigerian at birth BUT that is clearly not the case!

In fact, the people of the old Sardauna Provinces, are now under Sardauna Local Government, South East of Taraba State. These are the people from the old Northern Cameroon, who became Nigerians in 1961.

You may also want to note that the Old Northern Nigeria had 19 Provinces as follows:

1. Bauchi
2. Benue
3. Borno
4. Kano
5. Katsina
6. Plateau
7. Taraba
8. Niger
9. Adamawa
10. Kaduna
11. Sokoto
12. Gombe
13. Jigawa
14. Kebbi
15. Kabba
16. Nassarawa
17. Yobe
18. Zamfara
19. Ilorin.

You will not find Sardauna amongst the old Northern provinces, as Sardauna was part of the Northern Cameroon until 1961. People who historically came from Northern Cameroon, are found in Southeast Taraba State today. Jada was part of the old Adamawa province, listed no. 9 above, and was never part of old Northern Cameroon!

Lawyers acting for the APC could have spent time researching on Wikipedia before rushing to embarrassingly showcase their poor knowledge of history.

And if anyone of them, or their supporters think Wikipedia is not a reliable legal research engine, I refer them to the case of EDWARD NKWEGU OKEREKE v. NWEZE DAVID UMAHI & ORS, SC.1004/2015, decided 5th February, 2016, where the Supreme Court of Nigeria held as follows:

"According to Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopaedia, the INEC card reader is a portable electronic voter authentication device. Designed, specifically, for the accreditation process for the authentication of eligible voters before voting, the machine was configured to read only the PVCS of a particular polling unit and can only work on Election Day, Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopaedia, (last accessed on January 30, 2016)". Per NWEZE, J.S.C., at P. 36, Paras. A-B.

They should also see the case of PML (NIG) LTD v. FRN (2017) LPELR-43480(SC), Per AUGIE, J.S.C., at Pp. 52-56, paras. A-F, where the Supreme Court referenced Wikipedia thus:

“Now, double jeopardy is a procedural defence that prevents an accused person from being tried again on the same or similar charges and on the same facts, following a valid acquittal or conviction - see Wikipedia…”

What many don't understand is that Atiku is a Nigerian today. However, our constitution debars him from being President, because you could only be president if you were birthed a Nigerian which curiously counts against Atiku.

Cameroonian at birth, Nigerian post-referendum.
this is the fact people don't understand sadly

I am particularly surprised that other than Atiku no soul from Adamawa has rebuffed this claim by APC. If Atiku is from Cameroon and not qualified to run for the exalted office of the presidency of his supposed residence country, this is by extension everyone from Adamawa irrespective of political divide.
Atiku can not come from Cameroon while his monarch is from Nigeria.
Will it be proper to say all allocations to Adamawa be suspended pending the tribunal decision on Atiku's nationality? This is because if Atiku is Cameroonian all people of Adamawa are also Cameroonian including the landed properties.

hahahahahahaha.... grin grin Ibo don panick after hearing Atiku is not qualified to run for Presidency. He is calling everyone in Adamawa to speak out. You should call out Taraba people as well. Adamawa and Taraba were both in Cameroon before the plebiscite. In fact, you should call out all Ibos in SE to speak out in Atiku's defense. Because Ibos may also not be qualified for Presidency.
(he's going to blow his top...watch) grin grin

Nigerians are very funny. They did not say Atiku was NOT a Nigerian, all the time he was vice-president under OBJ. wink

When he was cleared to contest for presidency by INEC, nobody raised any issues about his citizenship.

During the campaign period, the political parties were silent about Atiku's origins. No one made any noise about his place of birth.

Now that he has headed for the courts, to challenge the electoral results, someone has just remembered that Atiku is a Cameroonian. Hehehe....I love this country, I swear. cheesy They have comedians in positions of power.

Meanwhile, Adamawa state itself is a multicultural place.

There are over 80 ethnic groups found in Adamawa State. Some of the ethnic groups include: Fulani, Verre, Chamba, Lilba, Kwah, Waja, Tambo, Libo Mwama, Kilba, Viengo and others.

Get yourself a copy of the referendum of Cameroon of February 11th 1961 and learn sharp sharp.

Nigeria never had anything called Adamawa province prior to June 1st 1960, couple of months after the referendum vote in February.

I will keep my talk short and simple.

British colonialists were the administrators for both Nigeria and Adamawa province. Adamawa province was in trusteeship under Britain. They should have appointed a Governor General to rule Adamawa province but because of proximity to Nigeria, the Governor General of Nigeria oversee the affairs of Adamawa.

If Cameroon did not get its independence (1st January 1960) ahead of Nigeria it would have fallen under the administration of Azikiwe the succeeding Governor General after our independence on 1st October 1960. When Cameroon became independent in January Britain relinquished its trusteeship of Adamawa to Cameroon. At that point Adamawa is in sovereign Cameroon.

Prior to January 1st 1960 when Adamawa remained a trust under Britain, it was never recorded as part of Nigerian protectorate. Let me emphasize the legal difference here.

Protectorate of Nigeria was a treaty between the Chiefs of Nigeria and the Crown of England.

Adamawa province on the other hand was a trust of United Nations, given to the British colonials to administer on behalf of UN.

By this distinction Adamawa was never a part of Nigeria even though both were administered by same authority.

I hope you are clear.
