The Girl Child Empowerment Scheme @GirlScheme on twitter is an advocate forum for young girls in sub-Sahara Africa that strongly believes that every girl child deserves equal access to education, health care and decision making. We intend to ensure that harmful traditional practices towards women such as female genital mutilation, early and forced marriage, son preference, widowhood rites, nutritional taboos etc. are abolished and under-5 mortality rate of the girl child is grossly reduced by creating awareness, educating the female child and influencing health care policies. We're also passionate about building a future generation of well informed females that would largely influence the world and reinforcing the United Nation convention of the right of a child.
