A UK-based Nigerian Medical Doctor, Harvey Olufunmilayo has described Obesity as a worldwide problem and a potentially life-threatening situation that shouldn’t be glorified by anyone.

Dr. Olufunmilayo said this in a series of tweets on his verified and official twitter account critising the controversial FUPA trend on social media, saying Obesity involves a lot medical risk.

UPA is an acronym for Fat Upper Pelvic (or Pubic) Area, and it is slang for fat in the lower abdomen area, the result of either the medical condition panniculus, or just a pronounced lower belly.

The medical risk involved in Obesity according to the medical expert includes: Hypertension, Diabetes, Heart attack, Stroke, Gallstones, Irregular periods, Infertility, Liver disease, Arthritis, Cancers (breast, colon, cervix, prostate).
