So government can't enforce her laws. Useless and senseless statement.

Best is to create an enforcement unit that workers can report erring companies. Then such companies will be sanctioned accordingly with fines and possibly seizure of assets etc.

Companies could also be forced to deposit an advance payment of the salary with the enforcement unit. That's if you have 30 staff, then you must show bank proff that you can pay them minimum wage.

So many methods abound. But is the government willing. The workers can't take laws into their hands, but government can

Haaa so it has gotten to that and Mr SSA after doing as you said would their job be guarantee I mean in Nigeria context

Think about it for a second that you sue your governor or your employer and still think you will continue in that job in Nigeria? That will be a miracle.

So a hungry man with no paid salary will be able to acquire a solicitor to fight for him bro SSA?

Bro SSA where art thou senses?

Re: Ita Enang: Sue Your Employer If They Refuse To Pay The New Minimum Wage (video) by onmyowncj: 10:23am On Apr 22, 2019
FG should set up a committee to check on employers not complying and punish such, instead FG pushed us against ourselves (employers),is not like FG is going to reduce the tax this employers pay.

They can increase it to N100k/month.

Quoting numbers is easy. But getting alert at the end of the month is the real test.

I am not sure we are paying attention to the issues facing the companies in Nigeria. You generate your own light, you pay for your security, you pay all levies and taxes of FG, State government, and local government. This does not include community and various stakeholders. The ease of running a business in Nigeria is burdensome. You will know better when you start a business. As for enforcement, prepare for more disengagments as many toys won't be able to pay...even state government. Prepare also to face removal of subsidy as it is a matter of when not if. Government just gave a reason for that step which would happen shortly.
