Anambra Businessman, Bona Okafor And Policeman Who Asked For His Particulars by AutoJoshNG: 5:11am On Apr 25, 2019
An Anambra businessman whose name is Bona Okafor on Facebook and manager of Makua Maranatha Investment Limited in Awka shared his experience with the police on his way back to Awka from Enugu airport.

On his Facebook wall, he narrated his approach to the senior police officer when he asked him to pull over and present his vehicle particulars.

Read his side of the story below;

On my way to onitsha from Enugu Airport I was pulled over by the Police via Enugu-Onitsha express way. The senior officer requested for my Particulars, so I politely declined and told him to to send one of his officers to escort me to the station so I’ll show them my particulars. The inspector was curious so he asked in a low tone Who are you sir? I asked him not to worry when we get to the station he’ll have every detail he need. He then asked his men to “free this trouble man make him carry him trouble waka”. Please friends how am I a trouble maker?

We really need to take this approach, but unfortunately not everyone has the energy for this rigorous process. The Nigerian police is rotten to the core.

I think his real intention was to find something that'll make you want to bribe them. Who wouldn't want to just bribe and continue his or her journey?
Suggesting they follow you to the nearest police station was smart, following you will be a total waste of time because the next Driver might drop money. It'd be better for them to reserved that energy.

Is the Nigerian police not made up of Nigerians and operating in Nigeria which has been accepted by the most responsible public servant as being filled with fantastically corrupt hypocrites who make the country a shittyhole nation headed by a lifeless fellow
A sound mind exists in a healthy body. So also a rotten police can only exist in a shittyhole country. QED!
When we are ready to take action consistently in a persistent manner, we will fix our country and our police. cheesy wink

seyenko:
"In character and temperament, the typical African of this race-type is a happy, thriftless, excitable person.
Lacking in self control, discipline, and foresight.

Naturally courageous, and naturally courteous and polite, full of personal vanity, with little sense of veracity, fond of music and loving weapons as an oriental loves jewellery.
His thoughts are concentrated on the events and feelings of the moment, and he suffers little from the apprehension for the future, or grief for the past.
“He lacks the power of organization, and is conspicuously deficient in the management and control alike of men or business.
He loves the display of power, but fails to realize its responsibility "

I recall a friend who was once travelling to Lagos. On the way, he was pulled over by the shitty police. They asked him where he was going to to which he replied he was going to sokoto grin one of the police men screamed, 'oga! na sokoto road be this?' and my friend replied, 'officer, I thought there was freedom of movement in Nigeria? It doesn't matter which road I choose to follow, what matters is that I'm on my way to sokoto!' Next thing they said was, 'oya, open your booth, wetin de inside'. Meanwhile he had some bunches of plantain in his booth. Soon as he opened, one of them looked into the booth and obviously saw the bunches of plantain but still stu.p.idly asked, 'wetin be this?' my friend looked at him and with a straight face answered, 'yam' grin at this point the policeman, who wasn't expecting that, was clearly taken aback and agitated. He went further to query him, 'no be plaintain I de look so?'......as calmly as he could, my friend replied, 'oh! you guys call it plantain? in my village we call it yam' grin grin grin the policeman was so very annoyed already and screamed at him, 'your head no correct!! oya carry your madness comot from my front now now!!'

If police dont check particulars and stay at check points, then when your car is stolen just say bye bye.. we need reforms and not outright cancellation

I remember when IGP MD Abubakar (dangote's in-law) Stopped Road blocks, check points and highway patrol, we celebrated and the kidnapers, highway bandits, one chance drivers all rejoice too and they showed us there is no vaccum in power, police leaves a spot, criminals take over.

Smart guy. Not only outsmarted the police men but also invented an antidoic to road side police bribery. Anyone who applies this same logic will be let go freely by the police.

Confidence and understanding is required to do something similar. I did something similar some years back with police at computer village, I told them to give me a note detailing the brand and serial number of the Laptop they confiscated from me, so that they'll be able to identify it at the taskforce office when I return with the receipt.

They were surprised I could ask for such, they just return my Laptop without me paying a dine, I left about 5 people I met there who are negotiating settlement.

Check points randomly are fine without bribe, but why not focus on upholding traffic laws. How many criminals are nabbed a day at road blocks?
